Removing epoxy resin
« on: June 06, 2015, 10:11:58 PM »
I know I'm being very picky, but a small amount of epoxy resin has bubbled out where the rear deflector is bonded to the roof. Is there any easy and safe way to remove it, or should I refer it back to the dealer?. I have the triple coat paint finish, with Autoglym paint protector.

You could try a tar and glue remover, something like Autosmart Tardis is good.

If that doesnt work, refer it to your dealer :)

Professional bodyshop advised me that epoxy cannot be removed without damaging the paint finish. Not possible to touch up any damage as Cordolo red not yet available in touchup form. The spots are very small, so I've settled for using a red permanent marker to change the colour from white to a slightly brighter red, finishing off with carnuba wax polish. They are now all but invisible, and I doubt anyone else could spot them!.
