Deep Wash + Wax Topup
« on: January 22, 2015, 03:39:04 PM »
Not long ago I had my car machine polished and protected, and today I decided to give it a good wash and lay down another layer of wax.

My father took the car to work while I was away on holiday... and got it quite messy, he has a long drive through country lanes before a stretch on the motorway.

Needless to say, I was mortified when I came home and saw my car looking like this;

So clearly it needed a lot of work, so I got to work with the following;

Citrus Pre Wash (Citrus Power)
Pressure Wash Off
Snow Foam (Avalanche)
Pressure Wash Off
2 Bucket Method Wash With 2 Mits (Lather)
Wheels Cleaned (Wheel Woolies, Brushes and Mit With Imperial)
Metro Air Force Blaster Drying
Wax Top Up (Desire)
All Plastics Dressed (Dressle & Revive)
Glass Cleaned (Crystal)
Tyres Dressed (Satin)

And the end results;

Much Better :D

All in all, it took me about 5/6 hours from start to finish with a little break in between :) The car also has a layer of synthetic sealant (Tough Coat), as well as a glaze for added shine (Ultra Glaze)!

So you have waxed instead of polishing?

Waxes and sealants provide protection, polishes remove them.

So should you polish first then and then wax/sealant?

Yeap, polish (removes those nasty swirl marks) then sealant (if you want to use one) then wax.
