Noisey Wipers
« on: December 29, 2018, 10:44:31 AM »
Hi.

Even though I have genuine wiper blades they still seem to be very noisy when in use, it's really annoying don't you think.

They were put on new when I had a service done at Matts place (Italiatec)

Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks

Mine used to squeak on my car years ago and in the end I cleaned the windscreen with some spirit and that solved it you may have picked up some crap on the screen so its worth a go

Well worth giving the screen and wiper blades a good clean, certainly get a glass polish (I use the Gtechniq version). I also use the water repellent from Gtechiq as lasts up to 18 months against say 3 months for Rainex.

I have to say though, the water repellent does mean the blades stick when not used for a while when first applied, does wear off though and keeps the screen really clear.

A very thin smearing of silicon grease along the length of the blade stops them from juddering.
Apply very sparingly though otherwise instead of absorbing into the rubber it will transfer onto the screen and leave you with a smeary view of the world.
