Tickets are now available for the first Bicester Heritage Sunday Scramble of 2019. It takes place on Sunday 6th January, with the gates open from 9am, and the event runs til mid-afternoon. Early January may seem like the time to hibernate, but in the past couple of years, in excess of 1000 cars, of all types from the familiar to the exotic, rare and obscure have packed this site out, making this a fascinating event with lots to see. Most of the businesses on-site open their workshops so you can see all manner of restorations and repairs underway, and the site is always well-populated with places to get a warming coffee or tea and a tasty breakfast.
Provided we can amass at least 10 cars (and we've exceeded this number easily on every occasion in the last couple of years), we will get our own Abarth parking area. I know that we were tight on space last April, but those who came in October will have appreciated the new location, the plentiful space and the fact that no other large club filled half our space.
To buy your ticket at the special Club price, you need to go to Bicester Heritage's website:
https://bicesterheritage.co.uk/whaton/sunday-scramble-january-2019/ . Click on the ‘Buy tickets’ button which takes you to the booking page
https://bicesterheritage.co.uk/?ticket=sunday-scramble-tickets and when prompted you need to enter the Abarth-specific code, which is ABARTHJA19. Note that ticket prices have risen very slightly for 2019, but at £5.00 for the car and driver, this is still one of the cheaper events of the year. The cut-off for Club bookings is January 1st, and the size of our parking area will be calculated based on the number of tickets sold before that date, so please do not leave it til the day before the event and expect to get a space.
I look forward to a strong Abarth showing at our first event of 2019.
