Trickle Charge Or Not
« on: November 02, 2018, 09:15:48 PM »
Just locked my car away for a few months and only just realised my spider has a cigarette lighter so has anyone got any thoughts on weather to use a trickle charger or not the cars kept in a dry well ventilated garage  but not sure if I trust leaving a trickle charger plugged in all the time especially if im away does anyone use these devices ??

Cheers Geoff

And I was also thinking or using a battery isolator  but not sure what will happen if the battery was disconnected for a few weeks.

Ctek battery conditioners.  Been using them for years as I have a number of cars that can sit for long periods.  They trickle charge but also run the battery through discharge and test cycles to keep them active.

Hi, no need to isolate, most motorcycle owners use an optimate charger/optimiser most of the year, these can be used on most 12 volt batteries and keeps them fully charged, approx £50 prob cheaper if you shop around.
