Abarths at Silverstone Classic: 26 - 28 July 2019

Tickets for the 2019 Silverstone Classic are now on sale, and once again, I have registered Abarth Owners Club, which means that we have all the benefits of the Car Club package. That means a 2-for-1 ticket offer, which includes an infield parking pass, allowing you to park your car in a reserved parking and display area right in the middle of the event.

Those who have attended the Silverstone Classic in the past will need no convincing that this is one of the very best events of the year. Held over three days, this is the world's largest festival of Historic Racing, and you can expect to see around 25 different grids of cars as varied as Pre-War, Formula 1, BTCC and SuperTouring, Group C, Historic GT Cars from the 50s and 60s as well as 500cc cars, Formula Junior and lots more. All told, more than 1500 cars will take to the track in races which vary from 20 minutes to a full 90 minute "race into the sunset". In addition, there are over 10,000 cars in Car Club displays like ours, and there will be all manner of trade stands, entertainment for the younger attendee, and there are evening concerts on the Friday and Saturday with world-renowned bands usually forming the main act. There's so much to see that one day is far from enough. Saturday is usually the busiest day, but those who attend on the Friday or Sunday will not feel short-changed, and those who come on all three days will still struggle to see everything. It really is that big and busy.

The full range of ticket options are described on Silverstone Classic's web-site, which is where you need to go to purchase them. The best prices are on offer under the terms of the "Super Early Bird", available until 31st Dec, after which they increase in cost a little. There is then an "Early Bird" offer until 31st March, and Club ticket sales will end on 31st May. The announced dates for the event are 26 - 28 July 2019, but be aware that these remain provisional until the final ratification of the Formula 1 timetable in early December.

Will be buying the full weekend package as soon as I can afford it! Fingers crossed the 70th Anniversary gets us another track parade for next year, and it goes as well as this year's did!

Well that's it!  All booked for the full 3 days.  Being new to the scene last year (it was only the 2nd club event we had attended after the  Donington Classic)  we did umm and arrr over cost of the Silverstone one.  Got to say though that although it's not an insignificant amount of money it has to be one of the best value weekends of the year!!! 
 
There is so much to do and see that a weekend ticket is a must  if you plan to get round and see the car club displays and obviously the racing which is awesome.  Seeing the 'old school' motors battle it out is a sight not to be missed    Just hope we can a get a 'parade lap' to match last years - what a blast that was, left us grinning from ear to ear   Fingers crossed that the weather is also just as good.

I am given to understand that the club owns a gazebo. As was witnessed this year at Silverstone I do not have the mobility of the other visitors so I would like to put myself forward for the role of a
gazebo minder while everyone else goes off and does their thing.
In the meantime I will crack on with booking all three days and prayer that the weather will be as good next year.

As it is a celebration year will the Abarths get a parade lap?

Hello to everyone by the way, I’m new to this forum but old to Abarth. I’ve had my 500 esseesse for nearly 10 years.

I’ve done this event a few times in my Abarth over the years. It’s such a great event!

All I can say at present is that if the plans that are under discussion (under wraps) do come about then this will be a big celebration of Abarth's 70 th......... and that may well include a parade lap (not sure which day it would be, though).

I will announce more once it is all confirmed.

Delighted to be able to confirm that we have a Parade Lap. It is on the Saturday, and will be in the late afternoon. It is likely that everyone who is present will be able to participate, like they did last year....... and it was far from a slow crawl round the circuit, so quite a spirited experience!

There may be further Abarth-specific attractions that I will be able to announce in due course (still waiting for sign-off from Turin!)

Please be aware that although the cut-off for Car Club tickets has been declared to be the end of the month (31st May), the site is nearing capacity, so they may run out earlier than that. Already sales of Saturday-only tickets have ceased, but you can still get 2 or 3 day tickets which include the Saturday........ but maybe not for much longer.

If you want to come to this event, I suggest you don't delay in buying tickets.
