Reversing Sensors
« on: October 18, 2018, 12:26:58 PM »
Just noticed that the reversing sensors operate at different distances.  The two on the direct rear at 1.5 metres and the two corner rear at 0.5 metres.  This means if you are reversing and turning at the same time (e.g. reversing out of a car park slot) you will only have 0.5 metres when the warning starts if there is an obstruction.

I don't have such delights on my spider after having a car with nothing for 13 years I think electric windows are a luxury

Well the car came with them and like them or hate them you do start to rely on them.   US versions have a reversing camera I believe!  With the hood up rear visibility is not great.

I totally agree with you and if they are on the car you want them to work properly

I had them on my 595 comp! If you cant reverse that you have no place on the road.

This is fun for reversing, with its excellent rearward and rear three-quarter vision (ahem).  And it's LHD, and the mirrors do that dumb 'objects are closer than they appear' effect which is really helpful.  Not.  The engine probably weighs more than the whole 124, and it does not have power steering.  Reversing sensors?  That'll be whoever happens to be standing behind...

So do I (and my wife loves it), but it's still a swine to reverse.  Most of 'em come with dents in those big rear wings.
