TMC Box Views?
« on: January 16, 2015, 10:04:08 PM »
Hi all,

Does anyone have a TMC box fitted to their 595? I'm interested in getting one and would like to know what people think about them?

Thanks,

Bertie

From what I know, Bluespark offer a much better alternative with a stronger map at a fantastic price.

I've had one for a year now and it has been flawless. Even outperforms the G-tech box too!

I'm not saying the TMC is bad but there are better options out there mate   :D

Hi Bertie

I have to agree i purchasesd a bluespark for my punto evo for only £120 NEW and they are currently doing that deal and can change the box to a 595 i believe, again agree with Ajuna TMC is not bad just think there a big difference between £450 and £120 for possible 10% difference between the two.

Pretty sure if you call Bluespark and ask for the mapper he can advise you  :)

Prefer the TMC box as it is more tried and tested, why I chose it myself but I understand why people would go with the bluespark. For me though money isn't a problem, would rather not go for a cheaper alternative when it comes to something that could damage the engine if not properly tested, just my opinion.

Fair enough but this map runs well within the parameters of the sensors, turbo and all relevant engine parts. It's simply a better map, more efficient and better built too.

I have had my box running a 'harder' custom map with even more power and torque on the top or 2nd to top setting (E and D) for a year now and it hasn't skipped a beat; neither have the 4 other Bluespark owners I have regular contact with.

The TMC is certainly tried and tested, however the Bluespark box is just as safe and is priced in a much more competitive manner. Simply speak to a professional mapper and they will explain the technical side, but the only tuning box that compares is the G-tach one and that's mega money (if you have a budget that is).

The TMC box is a little more sophisticated when compared to the Bluespark and there is a dedicated TMC Euro 6 box available. But both offer and deliver essentially the same results.

I have not tried TMC Box so cannot comment but the Bluespark I have is brilliant, absolutely worth every penny. Power and fuel economy has increased, works in 5 settings and noticeably too. Mine has been set on E a week after I got it, not any problems at all.

300+ for a tuning box is a little pricey for me, let's face it the A500 needed fiddling once and another for a Euro 6 version not that much R&D really. I"m not belittling the experience, skill or hard graft to make these boxes at all but 300 big ones? Probably if I had the spare I would have gone with TMC as I tend to go with labels  :o

Also I think you will find the likes of TMC and GTT have much higher prices as they
Are tuning company's so people tend to go to them
Ie Google abarth 500 tuning and up they pop
But blue spark make a large range of boxes for many cars and I'm sure all tryed and tested
That is ther core business
They don't get someone else to make them and re badge

Bluespark is £175 at the moment...

And they list the Punto under "Fiat" instead of Abarth ::)

It's like Armani vs M&S, both do the job but one has a name and a brand to go with it so they charge more just because they can

Will,if you buy the A500 box from ebay for £120 they ask you your car make and send you out an APE box if required.

Where do they list Abarth as Fiat?

Edited: I see they list on ebay as "Fiat 500 Abarth" but on their website it has its own  box selection.

when you select the make and model of car, however there isn't much point as it's listed as an Abarth tuning box anyway  :-\

yes the boxes are around £120, are you looking th the box with the additional sensor connection Will?

The Punto is only listed under Fiat, it's just the 500 that is listed under Abarth
