Abarths at Brands Hatch Festival Italia - Sun 19th August 2018

Taking place for the 3rd time in 2018, is the Festival Italia at Brands Hatch. The date is Sunday 19th August, and like previous years, attendees can expect an action-packed day with races and parades on the track, including rounds of the Ferrari Challenge and Alfa racing, a huge display of Italian Cars, and all manner of other attractions including stalls selling Italian food and drink, the sounds of Italy all being broadcast across the site and the likelihood of a mass track parade of hundreds of Italian cars, in whic you can take part, to round things off. .

Abarth Owners Club has been registered as one of the participating Car Clubs. This means that we will get an in-field display area (the precise location of which, the organisers choose, I don't!), and there are free tickets available which will admit the car and driver. Note that passengers will need to acquire their own paid-for tickets. The event is open to all AOC members, but as this event is in the heartland of Abarth Owners Club South East, it only seems right to highlight our local Group, so a portion of our parking area will be dedicated to South East members, and branded accordingly. I ask for your co-operation on this on the day.

The process for applying for tickets has changed a little for 2018, and is now all online. To get one of the AOC tickets, go to the event website, and head to the "Get Involved" section, rather than the one marked "Tickets", namely: http://www.festivalitalia.com/get-involved/italian-car-and-bike-owners/ When you click on the option under "Italian car and Bike Clubs", you will be asked to sign in with an MSV userid if you have one, or to create an account if not. Once you have an account, you will have the option to select from Abarth Owners Club as your affiliated Club. You will be asked for a few details, including an upload of a picture of your car. This is stored and will be usable info for any other MSV events. Once your application is approved, you will be sent a link to allow you to print off your own tickets.

Note that we have 40 spaces. If that number is insufficient, I may be able to get us some more, otherwise, you can still join in, with a pass for your car (also free for car and driver) in the "General Italian" parking.

Bit close to our wedding day for 2018, so will be looking at some of the other events in the calendar. Having been to #1 & #2 I can vouch for the excellent show, motorsport and chocolate cake

It proved spectacularly popular, with a stampede (literally!) of applications for our stand space within 24 hours! I asked for more and got a few more places, but almost certainly not enough to meet demand.

There is also a "General Italian" car parking area,  and that is not full (yet!). Suggest you apply for that, Dan, (now!) with your Alfa as the car, and then switch once you get the Abarth, as it may be sold out  - and this area is still well worth it. For a start, you get yourself and the car in for free, you are in-field, you are likely to be able to join the circuit parade............. and it is just a really good day out!
