H Ben , Welcome to the XSR family.
Hope the above attachment helps. Make sure you have the BMC filter fitted too. The Alloy fuel cap and BMC filter still seem to be an issue with dealers.
Strange that your dealership state Abarth  suggest having the car pre flashed.......My XSR was one of the first supplied with the 180 upgrade and everything was upgraded prior to delivery.
It`s  a great car to drive , and certainly packs a punch .. :)     Just watch out for the boys in blue... ;D

Hi all, and thanks for the info Neil.

I maybe wasn't clear about the dealer but I think that basically and frankly, they knew they'd screwed up the Elaborazione ordering (they've now told me that they didn't realise they had to order the chip separately from the rest of the kit as they'd not had to do that in the past) at the start of the week and it hadn't come in with the rest of the parts. Rather than just telling me the chip hadn't arrived they tried to get me to agree to pick up the car without the EMC upgrade (so I can feel/get used to the power) and then come back later so it didn't seem like they'd screwed up.

They then pretty much told me on the day I was getting the car that the EMC upgrade hadn't been done yet and they'd do it this week. Now I've been told it'll be next week.

This is guess work on my part but it seems to line up with this sudden phone call hinting that Abarth claim I should have the car pre update first, which like I said made some sense but I've driven much more powerful cars AND if I'd gone for the Competizione then there would have been no EMC remap.

ANYWAY, I don't wanna moan up the thread. Other than this the car has been great.

Mine does not have the Carbon Fiber dash? Mine has a flat grey dash?

The list said that it should have carbon fiber board? Anybody else with a flat grey dash?

That’s pretty bizarre. Mine is definitely carbon.

Crikey, not sure how that could happen, the carbon fibre dash is part of the build spec!
Don't let it spoil your enjoyment of the car, but certainly have your dealer sort it out.
Have you had the courtesy call from Abarth in Italy? Letting them know should help sort it if the dealer is a little tardy.

I actually read somewhere that the CF dash was an option on the XSR but to my knowledge all are supplied as standard, very strange

So does anyone have plans for taking care of their Akrapovic?

It's made of Ti right? Is that the full system (outside of the tip covers which I've put some wheel protection on)? Or is some stainless steel?

Titanium is a pretty low maintenance metal but has anyone else given it some thought?

Added some pics of my car.

Just a quick note about insurance, not sure if this the right thread, but as we have an XSR why not.

We have been with Adrian Flux for a couple of years and have been competitive, renewal this year also competitive with others, with £10 or so. This until I contacted Aviva, half price, bloody brilliant.

Web based application and all went smoothly. Highly recommended.

Will still keep in touch with AF for next year, keeping options open, but!

Hi,
Sorry we couldn't help this year but sounds like you've got a right result from Aviva for this year. Thanks for keeping us in mind for next year though as things do change pretty quickly in the insurance world.
Regards,
Dan.

Hi Andy, I'm currently with Aviva and their renewal for me has just come in much increased, so will be shopping around again, including a PM to Dan. Proves Dan's point about insurance markets changing quickly... dare say I'll get an improved online quote and find that Aviva will match it to keep the business. Will let you know how I get on... JL

Hi Dan & JL

I agree that the insurance market moves at a pace, and we have had excellent service from Adrian Flux when we were bumped in May so will definitely contact again when next renewal due. Half price was too good to ignore.

Just seen Benjamin is running Brembo too. Another XSR owner I'm snubbing (joke). I know they are an expensive option and that the car stops well enough on the standards, which also look the part in red, but that doesn't stop the pining.

A good friend recently bought a Volvo V70 for £200 - which took us to Spa and back without missing a beat - so I cannot justify any further investment. In fact, A is contemplating a similar 'classic' purchase although we've nowhere to put it and you just know it will fail almost instantly and cost far more than it's worth to breathe life back into it. I caught him salivating over a mk1 XR2 last weekend... £7k!! That's not £200!!

Anyway, back on XSRs, and still loving everything about it. Pleasingly the work trips have reduced a little so mileage is staying satisfyingly lower than expected too. Desperately needs a clean, but with nowhere to go this weekend it will have to stay looking a bit unkempt for now...
