Decal Removal
« on: April 05, 2017, 09:06:06 PM »
Hi, I'm new to the forum, only bought my Abarth 500 a few days ago!

It's is an early 2011 Campovolo Grey 500. I was wondering if anyone had any issues with paint fading and showing outlines or marks when removing the Scorpion bonnet decal? It's not to my taste and I think the car will look a lot better without it.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I removed mine a few weeks back (have since replaced it with a modified scorpion decal which looks much much better). It did leave marks but the majority of it came off great. A buff would be required for a proper finish but as I have stuck pretty much over it, its not that noticeable unless you are sticking your face on it

Compo Grey should be ok.

After you've taken the decal off, Clay Bar the entire care, polish and seal and it will look awesome!

On my previous Campovola Abarth 500 I removed the scorpion sticker as it had faded, unfortunately you could see where it had been, the grey was actually lighter and there was a slight ridge in the laquer where it had been, no amount of polishing etc would have made a difference.

So I ended up replacing with a new one.
