Display/SatNav unit reboot
« on: November 14, 2016, 04:43:54 PM »
My display unit seems to reboot itself after starting up, maybe 1 out of 3 times. It happens after a couple of minutes of initial start. Anyone else seen this on the 124? Cheers,  G

Not got my 124 Spider yet, but it does it on our 65 plate Mazda CX-5 which is basically the same system.  You'll be driving along and then the screen goes blank and after a couple of seconds the Mazda logo comes up and then it comes back.  Going to speak to Mazda about it when it goes info a service.

I opted out of Satnav, can't stand the things, but the display unit has behaved fine so far.

Mine does this from time to time (and yes, has the satnav option installed).

That's exactly what I do.  I find Google maps on the phone much more help - we often use it in my wife's car when the built-in Satnav can't cope with traffic problems.  Google seems to respond much more quickly to changing situtations.  One less thing to need updating and to go wrong - but I have to admit to being something of a Luddite, no auto wipers, auto headlamps, parking sensors, uprated speakers etc....  When ordering, I felt I wanted to keep it as simple, uncomplicated and lightweight as possible.  Each to his own!
