Unkown part help, bracket on battery tray.
« on: February 02, 2015, 07:10:32 PM »
Hi folks,

Over the weekend, during the install of my bluespark box I had to remove the battery tray.

The tray side nearest to the front of the car had some kind of sensor attached to it, and process of removing the two nuts that held the bracket on, I sheared one of the bolts due to rust :(

See picture here:

You will notice the bolt on the right is sheared in half.

The bolt is welded to the bracket, so I will I will need a new part, this is just the bracket.

I have bolted it back on with just the one bolt, but need some help finding out the part so I can replace it!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you,

Abe

Just to point it out in the picture:

The bracket goes on from underneath the tray  :-\

Okay so a friend has said it's the turbo recirc valve...

Now where do I get the bracket? haha!

It is exactly that Abe, I think from memory that those 2 bolts are connected together in a U shape.
When you undo that last nut have your hand underneath to catch the bolt from dropping.

Good luck getting hold of that part, maybe from an online breaker or Euro car parts or dealer?

Thanks CJ, yes I realised you had to hold the bottom when I removed it first time around haha Had a bit of fun digging it out form the engine bay!

I am hoping Fiat Exeter might be able to order it in for me if I drop by!

Hi Abe

Not looked at mine close but looks a bit overkill having to bolts to hold that on I would either just leave the one holding it in or remove the other bolt and replace both with a simple nut and bolt.

Or you could ask Mighty Dave Quinn on here, he could have that part?

Hi Justin,

You are right, it's currently bolted on with just the one nut and seems to be fine. However, with the increased power going through the car, I want to have both ends bolted.

Good news though, bought one off an eBay breaker for £10 posted! Should be here by the weekend :)

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and help!

Abe

OMG that looks like it!

The used part I ordered from eBay was rusty and the bolts were slightly bent so I didn't bother putting it on haha

What's the part number for that? I can't see it properly from the picture. You are a hero!!
