Clean In the Sun
« on: February 24, 2016, 04:24:14 PM »
So just had a polish and protect session as the weather has turned nice today, already did my winter prep at the start of the year so just a nice little top up

So i use auto glym entirely as religion

firstly wheels & alloys as i like to do theses before to save the spray up the body after a clean (basic car washing)
rinse with high pressure was then apply Ag custom wheel cleaner leave to mix for 1 min & rinse with pressure washer
ag alloy protector.

body.

basic rinse with fairy & water
deep clean with sponge & ag shampoo conditioner
chamois dry, entirely door seals ect (important for resin polish)

apply AG resin polish with micro fibre cloth, evenly apply it circles and finish in straight line. I find even leaving it with circle finish till dry leaves a gorgeous distorted shine.
I work panel by panel & leave to set for 3mins till i buff to a high shine with a dry micro fibre.

Next is Ag Extra Gloss Protection which adds a semi permanent protective layer to the car which is easy to apply with a cloth and shined with another micro fibre.

AG car glass polish is amazing & so is the rubber and vinyl protector for the interior.

I also tried to have a go at shining up the monza today, and had great effect.  all i used was brasso cleaner nothing special and with a bit of elbow grease came up brilliant
i had fun today shining her up, enjoy

Looks awesome!

Its very rewarding getting a car all detailed after the crappy winter!

Mine is severely overdue a spring time detail!

great job! black looks the dogs danglies when clean.

not sure if your aware of the two bucket method? basically get 2 buckets (try getting a clear 1)..I use a builders mixing bucket from b and q...use 1 bucket to dunk the mitt/sponge u use with soap and rinse it in the clear bucket. When you see the dirty water in the clear bucket, refill with clean water. This way you don't put dirty water back on the car causing swirl marks.

Add a decent wash mitt in there along with shampoo instead of fairy and a sponge. Would also suggest getting rid of the chamois and getting a good drying towel. Other than that top work! Ps. As above 2BM also!

Hi fletchacho93.

Bloody Marvellous job on the exhausts, they look fantastic.

Well done for the hard work and effort. It shows when someone does that.

You do realise that I'm going to have to do mine now . . . . Thanks to you  :o
