Pollen Filter change
« on: February 01, 2015, 05:47:17 PM »
Has anyone changed the pollen filter themselves?  I have a 59 plate A500 and I can't see how the cover for the filter comes away.  Some guides on YouTube for American models show 2 screws,  some say the cover 'popsoff'', but this is not the case on my car. Does anybody know the answer or can anybody show a picture guide?  I am sure it isn't too hard but it's freezing outside and I am working in a space that a midget would struggle in.

Mine is exactly like yours bl4desman, 2010 plate. I've never been able to work out how to open it either!

It should just unclip and you pull the filter out, as its flexible it bends past the steering column, new one just reverse as above. I think I grabbed the old filter with some long nose pliers.

Hi Jackslade :)  Do you know where the clips are?  I couldn't see anything obvious.  When I find them I will do a photo guide for CJ and others to make it easy.  I can't find a guide anywhere to match my car.

If it was not so cold I would go out and open it, but it would make it harder wearing a big coat.
It just came away if I remember correctly,
Obviously the one on the left is the old one, limited mileage over 12 mths.
Remember to have arrows pointing the right way.

Thanks :) Looking at that, there are 2 tabs on the back.  Maybe if I pulled from the tabs.  I will have another look on Sunday.  Hopefully some of the snow would have melted here by then and I will have more space to work in.
