Swirling paintwork

What would be the best product and applicator to de swirl the paintwork by hand?

Meguiars Ultimate Compound gets my vote!

It's strong enough to be effective when applied gently by hand but soft enough not to do any damage.

As always, make sure you prep well before you do anything. Decontaminate the area first, clay and clear with IPA before you apply UC with a pad ;D

 To be honest you can try a polish like augtoglym srp :

pros : easy to use and a fine cut so wont make any damage

cons: it will take a lot of effort and verylittle gain. if your car is lightly swirled srp will only "mask" the swirls .

to properly remove them it needs to be machine polished really.
