Abarth 124 engine
« on: December 24, 2015, 03:44:54 PM »
Apparently this car, when done by Abarth, will have the 1.4 T-jet engine from the 595 Competizione, but re-mapped to about 190hp
Even if you are one in a million like your mum told you, that means there are 7500 people just like you on the planet...

The only way I will be interested is if the performance is better than my 180 bhp competizione. With 190 bhp and RWD they have my attention! ;) Wouldn't be surprised if a more hardcore esseesse type version appears with 200+ also.

1.4 Multiair with 170bhp.

Gerry (the former Brand Responsible for Abarth UK) has been quoting this from day one.

One thing we can be certain of is that it will have exactly the same engine as the Fiat version.  Cost for fitting a different engine would be counterproductive:(
Abarth Punto Supersport
Grigio Campovolo, Skydome, Assetto Koni, Floating brakes
Summer: Gunmetal 18" Esseesse with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A
Winter: Official Abarth Winter Kit (17" with Pirelli Sottozero 210)

Also told me the same will but no doubt that is the power output for the base model. Expect at least 190 bhp when they bring an esseesse version to market, even more is possible. They are now squeezing 215 bhp out of the asseto corse evolutizione now amazingly.
