Summer 2016 - Evo Triangle
« on: December 05, 2015, 10:01:47 PM »
Just throwing an idea out there, meet and breakfast at an eatery near the triangle, a morning of driving the various roads, a spot of lunch and banter at a pub, followed by more spirited driving and maybe organise a meal and pub quiz in the evening?

Thoughts?  Takers?

It was certainly a good day when we went earlier this year - https://forum.abarthownersclub.com/index.php/topic,1183.0.html

 ;D

Really good fun and a solid turn out too, hopefully this will encourage upwards of 20 cars...I'm in!

Can you recommend any good pubs/eateries in the area Tim?
I've never been over that way but the roads look brilliant, I didn't realise there was already one this year.
I'll happily try and organise something unless you'd want to organise a follow up on last years?

yh well I was going to do another for summer next year and speak to Tom Mallon about the logistics has he knows that area very well.

I am taking a bit of a back seat for the smaller events and will be focusing on larger more track-focused days for next year so this fits into that category.

It's pretty out in the wild up there so there is nothing very close by, however I'm sure there are places to meet up and have some nosh.

TRACK FOCUSED DAYS  :D ...

sorry off topic, I would be happy to do this again next year! I would say definitely get together with Tom Mallon to help you with this one as Tim said as he knows the area.

With plenty of organising this will be an easy 20 car meet I would say.

Not only that but if it's out there a bit I would assume it's probably going to be a good idea to fill up before hitting Wales? Unless there are a bunch of stations somewhere, or I could just bring some extra whip-drink :P

I went with a couple of friends last year. Had epic fun and so many enthusiasts of all makes and models about. There is a travelodge we stayed at in Porthmadog, which is near the triangle and the famous beach Top gear filmed on.

I would be interested in this, I would also be interested in Scorpion of 88's idea of staying over and making a weekend of it  :)

I think to go on the beach, its about a fiver. Its the only time you'll be able to drift a FWD car 😉

Saft question but is driving on sand bad for the underneath of your car e.g like gritt and winter salt is?
