Williams F1
« on: November 21, 2015, 05:08:04 PM »
Ok so the 595C is ordered and looking forward to picking her up in the new year... After having initially declined the offer of a paint protection finish I'm now reconsidering and may now opt for the Williams F1 product. Reports on interweb are favourable and dealership states that one can still add products onto the finished protection to build an even more brilliant shine.

Has anyone else used this? Anyone got a story to tell about paint protection?

I also declined the paint protection and glad I did. My car was supposed to be have cleaned before I picked it up, I haven't washed it in two weeks and it's still cleaner now. Anyway back to the point I used fk1000 p as a sealant for the paint, there are people on here more qualified than me to advise you but I love that product.
Never to old to be a boy racer I think !!

Any dealer paint protection packages are a huge waste of money and not just with fiat/abarth but jusy about every brand. Do a little reading, buy a decent polish, sealant/wax and do it yourself by hand. I started detailing after my first abarth and since then I love doing it.

Can find plenty of advice from myself in the reviews section and some of my favorites don't cost much at all.

If by dealer paint protection you mean Spaniards,  then check eBay as the kits can be bought from there.  You are better off getting a professional detailer to add some protection.

As above. Supeguard packages are a rip off. They usually charge £150 to £300 for them and it literally costs the dealer £15 and an hours time of their rubbish valeters.

Never heard of the williams one. I'd stick with the likes of Gtechniq or Car Pro.

If you were closer i would offer to do it for you.

Even if the Williams covering is as good as the rest (which I doubt), it's not about what you use - it's about the preparation you do before you put it on

thanks Brian1612, it's not that I'm immune to some personal detailing - you're talking to a MITCAR winner - and was just considering if a professionally applied product finish would provide a better start point. A

If that is the case jennifer, your better off applying the coating yourself than letting some of these dealership 'detailers' near your car!
