My Abi after a detail-Products and methods included.
« on: January 27, 2015, 11:35:42 PM »
Hey all.Im very interested in detailing and have tried various products over the years. I have learnt  a huge amount  from detailingworld, so if anybody is unsure check out that forum its great.(your wallet wont like it though) lol.

Here are a few pictures of my car after a whole weekend being detailed.

The car has been
snow foamed with valet pro foam.
Pressure washed off.
Valet pro citrus pre wash
Pressure washed off.
Washed with two bucket method with zaino shampoo
Dried with large drying towel
Clayed with meguiars clay bar.
Polished with super resin polish
Zaino z2 sealant 2x layers
Zaino z6 in between
Finished off with zaino z8 spray sealant.
Wheels finished with zaino tyre gloss
Wheels protected with armoral wheel shield
Windows polished with ag glass polish and finished with 3m glass cleaner.
Exhaust polished with auto sol.

:) I really recomend zainos products. So easy to use and im really happy with the finish it leaves on white. It leaves a clinical finish.

That's really impressive. All I've ever done to any car has been shampoo, rinse and leather off!
Now I've got my Abarth I though that I'd better up my game. But I don't even understand detailing..Maybe I'm too old to learn!  :(

Looks awesome :) did you apply the SRP by hand or machine?

Lovely nice reflection for a white car!

Haha it is effort but at the same time its thereputic. I always get the neighbours giving me odd looks or making remarks like "youl polish the paint off soon" bla bla bla, but then they ask to do theirs lol.

Na dont be saft , not too old to learn.
I think the advice i can give you is look up detailingworld.co.uk .Lots sof good advice to help you achieve a better finish.Sometimes something so small and a simple technique like using  two buckets of water.1 For the soap, the other to rinse so the dirty water stays in it.Then you only put clean water on the car reducing scratches.

Then you can build your collection from there and try out different products and see what works for you.

5 years ago i started with literally hose,1 bucket, sponge and autoglym shampoo.

Now my kit has grown to..
pressure washers, snow foam, 2 buckets, soft wash mits, clay barring, waxes, sealants, quick detailers etc.

1 Thing i certainly recommend is a clay bar. This will remove alot of contaminents embedded into the paint work and it makes the body smooth as glass. This will provide a clean surface ready to be polished. This "paint prep" is vital for a better finish.

If you dont want to go mad a simple 2 buckets, clay bar the car twice a year, polish with autoglym super resin polish and a good wax will give you a really good finish without going over the top :).If you got any questions feel free to message me.

Bertie

Applied By hand.I wish i had a machine polisher,it would speed things up.SRP is a good easy product to buff on and buff off though to be honest so its ok.

I used to use autoglym high deff wax which was great but it left a warm glow finish which is nice but not great for white.I Have now moved to zaino sealants as sealants seem to leave a crisp finish better for light colour cars.
