Creaking boost guage
« on: January 27, 2015, 10:20:10 PM »
Anyone else got this problem? Seems to happen when temp around 1-4 deg. It goes when you put a hand on top of it. Does anyone have a long term solution? I have a 2014 A500 Custom.

Hi campovolo and thanks for joining!

Yes mine creaks occasionally, its just the plastic shrinking ever so slightly in the cold weather. Not much you can do really except try to keep the cabin really warm for a long period of time, to try and get some heat into the internal plastics etc!

I have the same problem.  Thought about taking it apart but will wait until I have a free weekend so I can look in daylight.

I had the same issue too, very annoying living in England. I've also noticed that when my car starts in the freezing cold it's never at the normal idling point.

At first start it should be 1.5ish but in freezing temperatures its just stays at 1ish.

Doesn't like the cold my Abarth, it's starts first time but just doesn't idle as it should do in normal conditions.

They all do this :) Its their warm up phase, they will idle at 1k to 1.5k, while the engine warms. You should leave it to do this until it settles down to the normal 0.8k before you drive it :)
