I've also heard from a reliable source at Abarth Italy that it is the 4C engine and it will produce a minimum of 240bhp, with an even more pumped 270-280bhp version becoming available a little further down the line.

Got to say that the overall shape of the MX-5 is seriously ugly - looks like a home made Z4 which ain't a good car to replicate. However that rear shot of the 124 reminds me of a Maserati GranCabrio

Side and wheels look great....but I dont think the back lights will be like that as it doesnt look very 124 ish at all...infact looks more a jag/aston lights.not a bad thing but not very 124ish and theyve always said it has 124 styling cues.
I prefer the more angular back of the black one on the original post.

I just don't think convertibles suit a man,don't get me wrong here as I love driving a convertible(used to have an Elise)but you can't get away from looking like a hairdresser!
2 men in convertible looks even worse.....
I really put my foot in it regarding this a few weeks ago,I was talking cars with my hairdresser Tony who mentioned he has an Abarth,then he asked me if I had considered getting the convertible version to which I replied"they are far too camp for my liking"there was a long pause followed by"mine is a convertible"I really had nowhere to go from here
Luckily for me my hair cut was near to completion and I left the place with my ears still intact

It's not what I think Brian...my source works for Abarth in Italy; they are his suggestions & insider info

I know no more facts that anyone else here, but he got the 180 Comp/Garrett turbo thing right long before any announcement I saw so it may not be worth writing off completely.

Nor would I be disappointed either way; as long as it looks good I'm not fussed about 180 or 280bhp, Abarth's are not about power

I really like the side of the mazda but in my opinion I hate the back lights and where the lights on the bumper make it look a sad frown lol.

I think the 124 looks abit more in proportion.but will see soon with better pix:)

I see what your saying. I think they could of done maby abit more with it. Im bit worried it may look abit plain but not ugly but will see the overall look tomorrow .

I like the side of the m5 though, saw 1 the other day and it looked actually quite low and flat to the ground

I heard the suspension is different to make it feel more fiat. Im surprised they changed the suspension so handling wont be the same which could be a disaster as handling is mx5's key selling point.
