Evening all just thought I would try & keep the post in the right place for those looking back on this.
i  recently seen YouTube video on installation of LED headlight bulb.

From a price point of view looked very attractive & just wondered if anybody could shed some light on this I have 2012 and was wanting to swap over the awful halogens for LEDs without any errors.....

Obviously this video, & reviews elsewhere seem to suggest they work perfectly fine but we all know that this isn't always true.  but they say no modification is required and you can replace the stock halogen headlamps directly.  im not to sure of the connectors but i can check beforehand being a 62plate12.
Please see link below & if you have any comments you can shared that would be much appreciated or if indeed you have  come across Novasight LED bulbs before?

Hello Pikeyboy  :)
I have been looking at LED headlight bulbs too but i would probably go for a Osram/Philips/2020 branded versions as have heard of cheaper alternatives that perform badly. With these you would still have to pay import duty? Also more importantly LED bulbs need to be installed correctly and if not will blind people and fail your MOT. They're not E marked either and potentially will fail your MOT if checked by examiner, also LED bulbs are larger and you would need a replacement cover to keep everything water tight. And I'm not totally convinced that LED's are any brighter than uprated halogens (nightbreakers) i have now at 2/3 times the cost  :-\

So I read somewhere today that ALL aftermarket LED light swaps will fail an MOT.

Quote
“Existing halogen headlamp units on vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1986 must not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp for light source and lamp not compatible.”

Found it https://www.passmefast.co.uk/resources/driving-advice/led-headlights#:~:text=Will%20LED%20headlights%20pass%20an%20MOT%3F&text=However%2C%20retrofitted%20LED%20headlights%20are,it%20was%20a%20grey%20area).

Thanks
