Looking for a good snow foam
« on: January 26, 2015, 04:20:36 PM »
Hi there, I am looking for a good snow foam product that doesn't strip off wax/sealants at around £15 per 5L...

Does anyone have any suggestions as I got 1L of Valet Pro PH foam as a tester but not a big fan of the smell. Also looking for something like bubble gum or cherry scented, just something thats smells a bit stronger! cheers. Some crazy coloured foams would be cool as well  ;)

Best I can recommend is Auto Finesse Avalanche. Has a nice citrus scent to it, wont strip any wax or sealants, comes up in a nice thick foam and is infused with their Citrus Power which is great for removing grime, salt and traffic film!

£15 for 5L is a quite an ask for a good snow foam, Avalanche is £29.95 for 5L but will last you ages, as the dilution ratio is about 1inch of liquid in a 1 litre snow foam bottle.

It works really well for me and I know it doesnt strip my wax!

Meguiars Hyper Wash is also a good bet, same price also for £29.95. Foams up nicely but doesnt have the cleaning power of Avalanche.

I have used chemical guys Mr Pink and carbon collective satsuma, both are wax and sealant friendy plus smell good too. Lots of suds/snow and lift the dirt quite well

I've been using Bilt Hamber Auto Foam for years - can't rate it highly enough :)

Seen the Bilt hamber on auto express, they awarded it the no.1 spot but i fear it may ruin my wax sealant as it talks about having acidic like qualities without actual acid ingredients but still worries me lol.

I've never noticed it having an impact to sealants..  I don't usually use waxes, well, not for a good number of years but I can't imagine it would have too much of a hit?

Whizzer can you tell me if this foam will affect my wax sealant on my paintwork?

Out of curiosity what would you say about this one, again not really wanting to pay more than £15 for a 5L, would be willing to go that littler higher for the bilt hamber but this one has caught my eye due to colour and scent haha! ;p

Personally I wouldnt use it.

I dont like the idea of it depositing a "gloss treatment"

The foam is always going to be white, due to the chemical used to create the foam you see - Sodium lauryl sulfate.

I found that strange myself as that is not the point of snow foam, think once the valet pro runs out I will try bilt hamber, found a comparison review with 4 other leading products and it won hands down.

Apparently even though it does not win for thickness of foam it creates or how long it lingers, it clearly removes the most amount of dirt/grime from the car going by the tests I seen which is the whole point so that will be my purchase I think!  8) thanks for suggestions guys.

Yes, I was quite disappointed when I first used it as I wanted more foam but when I rinsed off I was quite shocked..

The pro valet didn't take all the dirt of mine, was still plenty visible so hope this stuff improves upon that! Will give a little update when I get around to buying and using it
