What is this mark?
« on: August 18, 2015, 08:09:52 PM »
Hi Guys,

i have a unusual paint defect on both my Abarth and my friends mx5. They were both used in his wedding and had flowers with an oasis on them. I cleaned them both prior to the wedding with full sealant and wax protection.

it is more noticeable on the mx5 as the colour but it looks like the paint has been pulled but the lacquer is fine and it won't just wash off. just wanted any tips or advice, as all I can think of is starting with a finishing polish and working up the compounds with the DA

I have attached a photo of the mx5s mark
Thanks
Glyn

Any guests wearing sunscreen?  It is designed to penetrate skin so does just that on paint, leather etc. etc.  Autoglym suggest their Intensive Tar Remover used carefully on interiors but you may need to machine polish. on exterior paint.  Just a thought.

Hello Wyacht.  Did you ever find a solution to your paint problem?  It seems I might have a similar problem on my rear spoiler  :-\

Hey sorry for the late reply!
Yeah I asked one of the boat sprayer in work who used lacquer thinners and a light finishing polish and got it all sorted for me.
