Does anyone use an Electric Car Polisher?
« on: July 30, 2015, 07:27:01 PM »
I've been thinking about buying an electric car polisher to take the strain out of waxing my car. Has anyone got any experiences or recommendations of using these?

I been looking at a Halfords 240 v car polisher at £35, which has good reviews.

Thanks in advance  :)

I was going to buy a machine at waxstock on sunday but after the demonstrations there was so much that could go wrong decided against it. I did see that DA (dual action) is the way to go as rotary machines take a lot of skill.

You can even do a fair amount of damage with a DA, best thing to do is go down a breakers yard and get an old bonnet/wing/door to practice on.

If you go down the route dude look up DAS 6 or DAS 8 machines (cant remember which). They seem to ve very popular for newbies . I wouldnt bother with the halfords job ones. Its best to go with one that has alot of reviews like the DAS ones because i wouldnt want to get something like a machine polisher wrong.

I was considering myself but like jack we got put off at wax stock from the demonstrator bloke.HOWEVER many people swear by it and have no issues.Speak to Anewton he has a machine polisher so he might be the one to ask at the next meet.

Thanks Sal,

I did speak to Andy at the meet on Sunday so I'm on the fence at the moment.
