2015 Abarth 595 Competizione 180

Well I've had a ball since I picked up the Abarth yesterday. What a car! Absolutely love the noise, the delivery, the look.
My biggest problem is I've been used to Land Rovers and big asthmatic automatic vehicles for the last 10 years or so, so I'm pretty rubbish with a manual gearbox now and I keep forgetting about the power available and just sit at the back of a queue on the country roads. I'm doing my best to fix this!

Anyway, here is the fine vehicle in question:


And I did listen to you from my intro thread and I made a gopro of the exhaust, it's rendering now so I'll add to thread when it's finished.

I do need some help from you all though, everyone who buys an Abarth in June apparently gets a free track day:


So please help me out and recommend which of these four tracks I should go have some fun on...  I'll be hiring driver tuition on the day, believe me, I need it!

Mr Fish, I certainly am very happy, and thanks for the Donno recommendation.

Here is the link the the youtube of the lovely exhaust, I didn't seem to capture any proper pops and bangs, even though it does pop and bang quite often. I guess I need to learn how to make it happen on purpose instead of having it happen accidentally. All the more reason to do plenty more miles tomorrow!

I can't wait for Abarth web site to launch the proper blue colour not legend blue as a choice when doing configuration of you coice. But red looks very good. Pleased to see you like your 595

Very nice! All the 180s I have seen are red, is that the only colour available at the moment?

Car is looking lovely!  Congratulations.

Where abouts in the country are you from?  I've only driven Brands from the tracks available, but I'd certainly recommend it for a first timer.  It's a nice short circuit so very easy to remember which makes it easier for learning your lines and braking points etc.  Definitely recommend some tuition too as it really does makes a lot of difference to help you improve.

There were 3 launch editions. Only seen one other version other than this one, in the black with titanium wheels which was lovely, my choice when I spec'd mines

The only cars that where available right now, where red.. I couldn't possibly wait 12 weeks for a factory built order! Camera used was a go pro using handlebar mount through the rear valance thing.
I'm from Lancashire, but have no problem travelling the country for a track day, I'd rather make a weekend of it and do some exploring anyway.

I really like the Sport and Normal modes, it makes a huge difference and it's great to just stick it in normal when pootling about in traffic, then as soon as you hit the open roads hit sport and it's a totally different car!

I do have one annoyance, and it's just me being a bit sad really:



Everywhere else on the car the number is 595, on the dash we have a sneaky 500... I'll be speaking to my engineer friends to see if we can come up with something to get that fixed. Unless anyone knows of any aftermarket solutions already?

No it appears it didn't, it has holes in the floor ready to accept mats, but nothing fitted... Is it supposed to come with them?

I was under the impression the 595 comes with the Competizione interior colour matching car mats as part of the comp package, can anyone confirm that is still the case?

I would contact the dealer, going from what it says on the internet it should still come with the bespoke 595 car mats that match the interior of your car.

I couldn't stand the dash either, so I got a spare dash, removed the 500 logo, filled the hole, had it hydrodipped carbon and bought a 595 badge
