Hi,
This is always a grey area. You would be best to speak to your insurers giving them all the facts so they can rate in accordingly.

Dan.

Hi,

If the OP would like to message me some details, we can investigate their concerns and response. Failing that I can only explain about possible situations.

We charge an administration fee for processing change of vehicle amendments mid-term. These are confirmed both before the point of sale and in our Terms of Business. In addition to that fee any changes in premium are generated by the insurance company due to the change in risk profile. A change in the proposed risk could result in a return premium, an increase in premium or the risk becoming unacceptable.

If the customer is aware of a potential mid-term amendment at inception, we would be able to investigate the best policy to cover the change. No insurance company is likely to be competitive or offer cover for all risks and we can only offer the policies made available to us by them.

If you were quoted £220 to change the vehicle on the existing policy, the majority of that is likely to be the result of the insurance company increasing the annual premium and generating an additional premium, as they view the risk as increasing.

Regardless of the method of payment, in full or via installments, the balance following cancellation is the result of setting any payments made against the total cost of the cover. If the customer has paid more than the cost of the cover, they will receive a refund. If they have paid less, for example if they were paying by installments, there will be a balance to be paid.

If the OP was advised that they would have to pay £220 after the cancellation of the policy, it is likely that it was the balance between the costs of the cover and the payments made via the installments.

The customer is responsible for the full annual premium on cancellation if there has been a fault or pending settlement claim or if the policy does not generate a cancellation refund, for example on a classic policy.

Regards
Dan

If that were me I would be kicking up such a stink they would have wished they had never signed me up. All money is refundable it is the people in receipt of your money that choose not to refund it. Lets remember that Flux and other insurers earn commission on the business you give them from the insurance company and no doubt the finance company if it is funded monthly. By charging you the sum I would place a large bet on the fact that no one gets a commission clawback and the only person inconvenienced is you the customer. If you borrowed money then it should be a regulated loan and you should enjoy the same benefits that any borrower would benefit from if settling earlier.

DAN perhaps you can give me a clear understanding as to how this works and I don't mean general terms such as "not being able to be competitive on every model" as the specific car makes no difference to the agreement. I would like to understand why I would have to pay to change my car mid term whilst you are still keeping my business. No need to discuss a specific policy just a generic explanation on how it is justified and how it is calculated.
Hi,
I'm not really too sure exactly what you want me to try an explain to be honest.
Sorry,
Dan.

Hi,

I'm sorry if you have been having issues with ourselves. Unfortunately when a policy is taken out with ourselves it's very difficult for us to be competitive on every model of car that a client may change to mid term. I'd be happy to take a look at this though to see if there is anything further I can do to assist.

Regards,
Dan.

Adrian Flux Spring Forum Competition

Hello

We feel it’s time for another competition for April and May, but this time with a very unique prize up for grabs for all you car fans out there.

Chances are if you’ve been to a car show or event in the last few years, you would have seen Ian from http:/www.popbangcolour.com/ creating stunning artwork with the help of his remote control cars. If not, give his website a look!

Well, normally Ian’s artwork is reserved for the big manufacturers and hang proudly in their HQ’s but for Adrian Flux, Ian has kindly agreed to commission a piece of artwork for the winner of our comp.

The final piece of artwork will be 2 and a half metres long by 1 and a half metres tall, so not small. The piece can be of any car the winner decides but it must be a car.

So, here’s how to enter:

Using no more than 250 words on this post reply, describe the car you would like Pop Bang Colour to paint for you and why it holds a special place in your heart. This could be your first car, your dream car, basically any car that has a back story.

From all entries across the forums this competition post is featured, 2 people from the Adrian Flux Forum team and Ian himself will select the winning entry they feel is the most original and interesting.

2 runners up will win a print of their choice from http://www.popbangcolourshop.com

https://twitter.com/Popbangcolour

https://www.facebook.com/popbangcolour

https://www.instagram.com/popbangcolour/

Good luck.
