So I went to see Ajay over at Thames Abarth this morning just for a chat as I was in the area.
I had been out for a test drive in an Audi S1, it was a good comfortable and fast car but the overall experience was crap! I was out maybe 15 minutes, no motorway drive and the salesman was really late.
I told Ajay about it, and he decided I needed to take the Biposto out for a blast, so thats exactly what I did!
He handed over the keys, brought the car out to the front and off we went!
It is such an amazing car to drive, it sounds amazing, handles really well and just goes like stink! We went on a really nice route, where I could really put my foot down - my god does it get up to 70-80 quickly! Very easy to lose your licence!
Once we got back, we spoke about what would be new for Abarth in 2016.
I can confirm there will be;
Abarth 124 Spyder
Abarth 4x4 with Alfa 4c Engine
New Abarth 500, with 595 or new equivalent (there will be 3 models as there are now)
This has come from Abarth direct to the dealers! Sorry anyone who has ordered a new comp
After that we were discussing the MTA gearbox, and after about 5 minutes Ajay disappeared then came back with the keys to a 695 Maserati he had for sale, and told me to go off and try it out! I was gone for about 45 minutes, doing some motorway driving, fast country lanes and pottering around town. I wasnt a massive fan of it if im honest, it was okay in full manual mode but not as good as good old fashioned gearstick!
And to top off an amazing day, he gave me an Abarth SS crate free of charge! Ive just put it together and it looks awesome! Im storing my winter wheels and some car cleaning stuff in it
All in all, it was an amazing day and just proves to me both Ajay and Thames Abarth love to look after their customers.
I urge anyone looking to purchase an Abarth to make the journey there, its definitely worth it!
