TMC Motorsport / Re: 10mm wheel spacers

I think you will find they are safe but ideally you want hub centric spacers as these will come with the lip for the wheel to sit onto like a standard hub.

Hi, welcome to the AOC.  Enjoy the new car, it might be worth joining the Abarth Facebook group and posting your questions on there. Lots of people on there have modified cars.  Also make sure the car is well protected, lots are being targeted and stolen.
Neil.

Why are you so obsessed with killing this forum by sending everyone to facebook?

Not all of us want our privacy infringed by Facebook and (as a member of AOC on FB myself) the FB AOC page is full of absolute idiots who spend most of their time arguing and willy waving than actually helping other owners.

It's a glorified kindergarten. This page is FAR more professional and civilised and if wasn't for you sending every new owner to facebook, it would be a much better and more active community of like minded owners.

Just my opinion but this forum is pretty dead these days................unfortunately. It's a real shame as this was the first place I looked when I bought my car back in 2015.

I agree the Facebook AOC is pathetic, full of keyboard warriors looking to aggravate at the first opportunity.

If it's mods you're looking for and advice on which ones to choose you would be better looking up Modified Abarth on Facebook, these guys know their stuff and will help you make informed decisions. There are also many local groups that are very active (also on Facebook) that might be able to get you involved in various local meets where you can talk to owners that have already done exactly what you are thinking of doing so can also advise you face to face.

Thanks John,
I was wondering if I was ever going to make contact on here with anyone lol.. so thanks for getting in touch.
Yes I know the Dick Turpin the more places and times there are the more chance I will have of making some of them.
I will look for the aoc on facebook thanks for that...

So John when is your next outing, and what model and mods have you done to your pride and joy..?

Isnt it funny how you dont see something until you own it and then you see it everywhere lol...

I try to make the Dick Turpin meet when I can but I will probably go into hibernation during the winter  :) to cold to stand in a car park  :)

There is a big meet this weekend at Duxford (you need a ticket in advance so get yourself on the Facebook pages for info)

I have a 2015 Yamaha Factory Racing that has a few modifications, to be honest it is probably just easier to say the only thing I haven't changed is the turbo  ;D

This forum is pretty dead these days so if you can find some facebook groups you will get a lot more responses to questions. I would look up Modified Abarth (definitely the go to if you plan any mods) and Abarth Owners Club South East for more local meets

Hi Graham

The Ace Café meets are quite well supported but it's not the easiest place to get to on a Thursday afternoon/evening.

Are you on any Facebook groups? The AOC South East owners do regular meets and there is an Essex meet at the Dick Turpin (A127 I think) that is held every first Thursday of the month.

John

Welcome  :)

I think the green could persuade me to sell my podium blue, I need to see one in the flesh.

I think I would be getting a second opinion. If not from another Abarth dealer but an independent Italian car specialist?

Good luck either way  :)

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / Re: STOLEN!! BK10 OUG

From what I can remember they was focus RS vents, they worked perfectly at getting the heat out, as for rain well I had to put a cover under the bonnet lol, I didn't do this at first and what had happened was that water had got into the spark plug on cylinder one and caused a really bad misfire, fine driving in the rain but not when the car wasn't moving or on etc.

I have seen people make custom ways to catch the water from under the bonnet so that it doesn't affect the engine at all.

Thank you  :) I'm gonna have to look into this I think

Glad your getting your car back  :) It must have been a strange feeling opening that letter!

Can I ask what bonnet vents you have and how did you stop the water coming in?

Hi Laura
Not sure where you are based but this forum has quite a small user base these days so if you're a Facebook user you will find much more content on there now. Local groups as well as the main Owners club.

There are quite a few meets arranged each month now so hopefully something will be suitable depending where you live  :)

I have the Power Motive and I bought mine through Mike @MS_Racing. Just be very patient when ordering because they come from Italy and the average delivery time is about 12wks! It will be worth the wait.

I have ordered a couple of bits from TMC and they have been ok, if it's a stocked item the turn around is pretty quick but I'm sure you will find that the exhaust won't be a stocked item.

All depends on how much you wanna spend. I love my valve controlled Power Motive, noise when you want it and quiet when you don't want to annoy the neighbours.

See you there Colin  :)
