Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / Re: Washer Jet to High
« on: July 24, 2018, 07:55:41 AM »
As far as I am aware all you need to do is find a reasonably long and thin pin/needle. Then get access to the washer jet itself (which may mean opening the bonnet), insert the pin/needle into the jet nozzle and apply a small amount of pressure to move them either up or down. the longer the pin/needle the better idea you will have as to where the washer jet will fall. It should be about a two minute job at most and even though I am one of the least mechanically minded people going I have carried out this adjustment many times myself.

Was lucky as we were at Silverstone yesterday so now weather problems until we got to donnington on the way home.

Morning All. Just to say great to see you yesterday at Silverstone with some good looking cars. Unfortunately didn't get to see everyone as we were wandering round quite a bit but will definitely do more events (time and distance permitting). Have a good day if you are there over the weekend.

Merchandise / Badge overlays
« on: July 17, 2018, 01:22:38 PM »
Apologies if I am stepping on anyone's toes here but after reading about some of the issues with merchandise I searched for other options for badge overlays on the internet and found a guy called Garry Smith who has a company called abarth badge decals. There were limited choices of colours on the website but he assured me via email that they could produce any colour combination so I placed an order with them. The original product delivery came with the wrong combination however Garry sorted this out very quickly and straightforwardly and I now have the correct decals on my car. He charged £25 for a set of 4 overlays. I would recommend him to anyone wanting a set of decals BUT make sure you email him with precise details of colour. His email address is abarthbadgedecals@gmail.com. If anyone is at Silverstone this Friday I will be there if they want to see what the decals look like.

Likewise. Got home yesterday to find it waiting. Also had a trial with a waterless wash to see what it's like after bringing the car down from North Yorkshire. Worked well.

Don't know about the Saturday but Silverstone had extended the deadline for club entries until the end of June for the Friday and Sunday soooooo it might be worthwhile talking to them if either of those days are any good.

General Chat / Re: Dealer does it again.

On this topic would it be worthwhile to get members to relate good and/or poor service tales and therefore people could be a little better informed before taking their pride and joy to a particular dealer. It may also get some of the poorer dealers to improve customer service. Just a thought.

General Chat / Re: Naming cars...yay or nay?

We started making our cars when the kids were little and called our Alfa 156 Alfie. I know it wasn't that original but they thought it was funny. Since then we have had a cilla (black saxo), ruby (red saxo), smartie (smart four4), Dennis (another four4), Bianca (500), Ferdy (500), William (500), Bella ( gulietta) and now Vincenzo (abarth).

Have just added my location but it seems quite lonely up here in North Yorkshire.

I count myself very lucky as I teach advanced high performance road driving to police officers. If you watch intercepters we train those and others.
