Questions / Re: Best winter wax protection
« on: November 02, 2015, 11:53:11 PM »
Thanks Guys, I've ordered some Collinite 875 Liquid as I thought it would be quicker and easier to apply. Hopefully I will get some descent weather this weekend to get it on.
Just one more question, I normally use Chemical Guys Hybrid V7 gloss sealant, can I continue to use it or do I need to use it after I put the 875 on? I find it gives a really good gloss shine.

Questions / Best winter wax protection
« on: October 27, 2015, 06:22:09 PM »
Hi,

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but what wax would you recommend that is easy to apply ( I don't have the skill to use an electric buffer) for my Record Grey A500 to help protect the paintwork through the winter, especially against road salt etc.

I currently use Chemical Guys Hybrid V7 sealant that I find really easy to apply and seems to work really well. I also put GTECHNIQ Wheel sealer on when I got the car in March, so I'm hoping that will help protect the alloys.

Questions / Re: Wheel cleaning and protection
« on: April 07, 2015, 11:33:53 PM »
I have sealed my wheels with C5, it was really easy to apply, but I did spend close to two hours cleaning the wheels first. I used Bilbery wheel cleaner, then just scrubbed with microfibres cloths until all the break dust particles disappeared.
I have only had the car for 5 weeks and I have cleaned it every other week, so the wheels were fairly clean to begin with, but I was still amazed how much more dirt came off when I used the panel wipe fluid. The C5 went on really easily took about 15 minutes to do all 4 wheels including wipe off.

Only time will tell if the C5 really does work.

I use Sainsbury's Super Unleaded, I did notice the difference between super and normal after three 30 litre fill up's, but my ECU is probably still not adjusted as I've only done 750 miles in it.

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / Re: when and how often to press TTC...
« on: March 23, 2015, 11:35:39 PM »
I tend to use the TTC when I'm in sports mode, mainly on motorways or dual carriageways.  I'm still learning how to drive it (only done 750 miles in it), but I've been driving sofa's prior to this  ;D

Questions / What would you recommend for detailing the inside?
« on: March 20, 2015, 11:07:36 AM »
Hi Guys,

Bertie kindly helped me with my detailing question previously, but now I want to get the right sort of products for detailing the inside.

The car is new, so it's currently mint, and I want to try and keep it that way.

What products and applicators would you recommend? (I have a cloth interior if that helps).

Thanks guys.

Thames Abarth / Re: Feedback
« on: March 17, 2015, 03:50:53 PM »
I purchased my car from Ajay at Thames Motor Group.

The service I received from him from the first time I called was great, he was very knowledgeable and guided me through the ordering process, making sure I didn't end up adding optional extra's I didn't need. Ajay managed to do a deal that was £££.££ (a four figure sum) cheaper than Glyn Hopkins St Albans & Chelmsford.

When I collected the car, all I could see were Abarth national dealer award certificates (for literally every month for the last 2 years). Ajay went through the car methodically with me, paired up my iPhone 6 and my parnters phone, and called me a couple of days later to check I was happy and if I needed to know anything else.

I would highly recommend speak with Ajay if you are looking for another Abarth.

Thanks again Bertie,

Excuse my stupidity, but I have a Sealey Pressure washer with a detergent bottle attachment that goes on the end of the lance, can that be used with the snow foam or do I need to buy one of these special snow foam attachments they sell on Ebay etc.?

Hi Bertie,

Thanks for your reply your help is greatly appreciated,

I bought Chemical Guys Honey Dew Snow foam, and I have been given some Maxolen Car Candy Shampoo, do I need to use both or only the snow foam?

Questions / To Seal then Wax or Wax Then Seal.. That is the question?
« on: March 17, 2015, 01:07:15 PM »
Hi Guy's

With all my previous cars I have been lazy and taken them to the local wash and scratch car washers.

This baby has got me hooked so I have decided to take my PW out of the cardboard packaging for the first time ever and detail the car myself, (there's just something about this car that's making me want to look after it ;D).

I have bought some products to try out, without knowing much about what I am doing, but as the subject states do I seal first and then wax or wax then seal?

I have bought

2 buckets with grit guards to d the two bucket wash
Mamouth lambs wool Mitt
Microfiber Mitt
Chemical Guys Snow Foam
Valet Pro Bilberry PH neutral Wheel Cleaner
Gtechniq C5 Wheel Sealant Kit  (I have the  standard Abarth 16" Painted Wheels)
Chemical Guys V7 High Gloss Spray Sealant (I have a Record Grey Metallic).
Gtechniq T2 Tyre dressing.

I haven't bought wax yet, as I didn't know which was the best, easiest to apply (by hand) and longest lasting without spending a fortune. Also do I seal/wax over the Nerbarth side stickers or do I need to be very careful and make sure I miss them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ajay was brilliant, his service was great, he was honest and the price he gave me was a lot cheaper than Glyn Hopkins.  :)

I would recommend him (and Thames) to anyone based on the service I got.

Hi All,

After a long wait (felt like forever) I finally took delivery of my Record Grey A500.

I'm loving it :)
