Not sure how it is attached as the Abarth doesn't have top strut mounts but this is a pic I have.

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / Re: Dual Zone Climate Control?
« on: May 17, 2016, 03:01:46 PM »
Dual works in principle…for about a minute until the temp averages out in the car which neither side wants. Then it becomes battle between each side to increase the cold/heat to try and increase/decrease the overall temp! (I saw a brilliant comedy sketch about this very subject recently, I can’t remember who by)

I’ve had various cars that you can sync both sides permanently which I have done and never used them independently again so a complete waste on me. My current Alfa reverts back to dual each time you start the car and each time the passengers side dial is touched, an utter pain in the backside.

I’m sure some do find it useful and I believe some makes are a lot better than others. My wife and I usually feel the same in the car, if one of us is hot or cold we both usually are, that’s probably why I don’t see the benefit. We find it easier to control the temp by turning vents off if one of us doesn’t want so much hot or cold air.

My comp only has single zone, given my experience of Italian dual zone I thank the Lord!

Good point there, it does depend on the car make. Our new car which is an Audi A7 has a fantastic system as did our old car, VW CC and both of them we never have to change it and the only time I use sync is when I'm in the car on my own.

I'd count yourself lucky, all dual climate control means is that when you want to change the temperature you have to do it twice!

I've owned a few cars with dual and I've never seen the point, surely the laws of physics means it's never going to work. My other car has 3 zones for the air con, I have no clue where the 3rd zone is as I only have 2 dials. Given me signal zone any day of the week.

Really? What cars have duel climate and not have an a sync option? Duel climate is more than worth it. My wife and I rarely have the same temperature set on our car. Our new car has 3 zone and it works great. The comp comes with duel zone climate doesn't it.

Sounds like your wife needs to be banned before some innocent person gets killed by her.

Not joking!

There is a place for speed(even on open roads) but I don't think your wife knows where it is.

I've seen a lot of Tarmaced drives in my time but that looks to be done very badly.

On a side note my brother who is a tile importer tiled his driveway, it was very handy in the wet as you never had to turn your car, just drive in and a quick pull of the handbrake and you were facing outwards.

I just got banned from Abarthisti for today for using profanities. I can't even remember what the thread was about now but it was something about a member being shocked by something and another member said he had no words and I replied saying, "I do, Fcuk"

In saying that I have always found the other forum okay as I do here. I still haven't got an Abarth though, I have decided to wait until I see what the new one is like especially as the current models are getting fewer and fewer to chose from.

Adrian Flux Insurance / Re: Nightmare beware

Friend of mine who bought a heavily modified Focus RS was going to use A Flux for his insurance but after reading the OP's first post the other day I brought his attention to this he has gone elsewhere.

If a business doesn't have a reputation it has nothing. I wonder how much they missed out on with my friends insurance.

General Chat / Re: 500 Abarth Esseesse new user and exhaust question
« on: April 25, 2016, 08:47:49 PM »
If you YouTube power motive abarth 500 mine is the grey one on the driveway revving up to 3500.

I do get great noise from mine and get a lot of compliments. I was about to install my Scorpion sports cat which would have been epic but have now bought a new turbo which will be installed next week so that never happened.

The Power Motive has a deep tone to it at mid revs that I haven't heard from others it also sounds great when cold. No problems getting pops and bangs even on a Euro 6.

Sounds really nice. How is the sound with the valve closed compared to the stock exhaust?

Right, yesterday evening I spotted a grey 595 in the Sainsburrys petrol station in Balsall Common.

Today a red one 595 passing the Kwik Fit on the A45 in Small Heath, sounded great BTW

About 30 minutes later I seen a Campo grey with checkered roof leave the Tesco petrol station by the Swan shopping centre just off the A45, driving too slow to hear it with all the other traffic passing.
