Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / Side stripe replacement help.
« on: May 05, 2021, 10:17:01 AM »
Hi.

I want to replace my red stripe on the side and change it to the yellow one. I'm in Staffs, does anyone know how much these are and where I can go to get it done please?

I just dont trust myself with this job because it's too visible for all to see if I mess it up.

PS I'm taking the opportunity to do this whilst all 4 of my callipers are being re-manufactured at Big Red, and I'll have them finished in the yellow powder coat, so perfecrt timing really.

Thanks in advance.

Questions / Karcher K4 Pressure washer Snow Foam Attachment.
« on: June 08, 2020, 03:15:16 PM »
Hi.

I have an older snow foam attachment and would like to get a better one than this which I have had for around 5 years.

I would love to hear what you guy's use and what you think of them. The one I have is okay, but I find it sprays the snow foam all over the place, IE the spray foam mouth is too wide which means it goes all over the place. (I will try and get the model of it when I get home and let you know.)

I would also like to have one with a 2ltr bottle, and one where you can adjust the snow foam width if at all possible so you don't have to stand so ridiculously close to the car.

Any help would be appreciated than you.

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / Noisey Wipers
« on: December 29, 2018, 10:44:31 AM »
Hi.

Even though I have genuine wiper blades they still seem to be very noisy when in use, it's really annoying don't you think.

They were put on new when I had a service done at Matts place (Italiatec)

Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / *Update* Auto Watch Ghost Car Security System.
« on: February 13, 2018, 02:11:28 PM »
Hi.

Anyone had the Auto Watch Ghost installed  in the Midlands area?

Price seems reasonable for the benefits it gives, but wondered what you think about it and it's usage, what are your views on it please?

PS Thinking of having it installed by a guy called "Dal" and his place is called Automotive Solutions and based in Birmingham B421EW and a Tracker at the same time after reading good reviews about him on the mbclub website.

Many thanks.

General Chat / Engine Cleaning.
« on: February 19, 2017, 11:47:59 AM »
Hi All.

I have read through all four pages, but couldn't find anything.

What do you guy's use for cleaning the engine bay and engine? I'm talking about normal cleaning here, not an engine or bay that's never been cleaned with an engine that is greased / oiled up to hell, just a general cleaning recommendation please.

I just purchased some Dodo Juice to give it a try with a 1 to 1 dilution ratio, but, at £8 a 500ml bottle that's not greatest value for money.

I generally tend to cover sensitive areas such as ECU etc with foil so it can be moulded into shape, then use a 2L pressure pump bottle to spray the area and then leave for five mins then agitate with a small brush before finally rinsing it all off with another 2L pumped bottle with just water.

I prefer to do it this way as opposed to a pressure washer for obvious reasons, and the same for a hose pipe, I only want to get enough in there to rinse the cleaning fluid off, not soak the entire area.

PS I did originally post this in the detailing questions area, but got no responses.

General Chat / Windscreen Wiper Base Plastic Cover.
« on: February 17, 2017, 01:20:40 PM »
Hi.

I'm looking to get a replacement drivers side wind screen wiper base plastic clip piece, the whole small clip in cover has come away somehow and I have lost it.

Any info on where to get a new one to clip back on would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

General Chat / Parts delivery time !
« on: September 25, 2016, 05:50:36 AM »
I have a faulty boost gauge on a 2015 comp and the dealer is replacing it for me.

They ordered it over two months ago, and still no sigh of it, so I chased it with FIAT UK after getting the dealers permission because I didn't want them to think I was treading on their toes.

FIAT UK are telling me it's going to be at least another two months?

Seriously, I asked, Four Months for this gauge?  Yes, she said.

I am very surprised at this length of time for what I would consider an "Off the shelf part"

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / Headlights not working properly
« on: September 23, 2016, 03:42:13 PM »
Hi Gang.

When you get in the car and start and put the headlights on normally they perform the test sequence and the headlights go down then up again.

This is quite noticeable as they go down then up quite a few feet with the bean throw.

However, the other day I noticed that when driving home from work in the dark the headlight beam throw was terrible, it looked as though the beam top was only about ten feet in front of the car!

I tested this in my garage and noticed that it only goes down then up again a tiny amount when switching them on.

Any ideas on what's happened here guy's?

I haven't done or changed anything except had a full gearbox replacement along with a whole new clutch all completed at the dealers.

When I picked the car up I had to re-set the instrument panel stuff such as date and time etc, they must have disconnected or removed the battery whilst replacing the above items.

I'm not trying to blame the dealers in any way at all, maybe it is coincidental!

The dealers who are fantastic by the way, told me to bring it back in and that it probably just needs re-setting?

Anyone ever had this or know anything about it?

Many thanks.

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / Quirky Radio Operation.
« on: June 11, 2016, 03:01:12 PM »
Hi all.

So, the heating system seems to remember that it was off, therefore when you come back to the car to go somewhere again it stays off because that's how it was set the last time the car was used, which is really good especially in the nice sunshine and driving with the windows down.

Air con is great, but I also like to drive with the windows down too when at lower speeds.

The problem seems to be with the stereo system. Even if you turn it off and drive with it off all day as soon as you park up then return to the car later it comes on again every time.

I like listening to my 80'0 sounds, but I also like to listen to the Monza too.

I wonder why they didn't make the stereo the same as the heating?

Or have I missed something?

Many thanks.

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / Standard Monza Exhaust Valve Question.
« on: April 16, 2016, 02:36:05 PM »
Hi All.

Is there a way of getting to this valve other than lifting the car?

I heard someone say something about getting to it from inside the car?

Thanks.

PS I must be weird, I want to get the valve working freely, I don't like it open all of the time.

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / Replacement Chromed Wheel Bolts.
« on: April 04, 2016, 06:13:44 PM »
Hi Gang.

Just dropped my wheels off to get them powder coated high gloss black but have the rims and face diamond cut to make them bright silver. I do not like the white wheels at all, but like the pattern / make-up of the centre which is why I'm keeping the wheels instead of buying new ones.

Anyway, I am looking to get some more wheel bolts which are bright chrome along with some locking wheel nuts to finish off the look, but I'm not too sure what type I need.

I know the bolts are 10mm across, and the threaded area is 22mm. The overall bolt length is 41mm which includes the bolt head itself and the cone part to locate the wheel to the hub.

Any help would be much appreciated, especially links.

Thanks in advance.

Questions / Wheel Cleaning Help!
« on: March 08, 2016, 04:52:30 PM »
Hi Gang.

How the blinking heck do you guy's and gals clean inside of the wheels like mine without having to resort to taking them off each time you want to clean the car? (I'm talking about the actual inside behind the front spokes of the alloys.)

Any help in keeping my sanity would be very welcome thank you.

(I'm attaching a picie to show what I am talking about.)

PS Checkout the door sides and bottom LED lights, the same in the foot wells too, they look fantastic at dusk and even better at night.
