General Chat / Spotify Next/Previous button.
« on: April 24, 2017, 03:03:08 PM »
Hey all,

Having a bit of an issue here. I'm not sure if it's the car or Spotify app.
Anyway, I plug my charging cable and the head unit detects the phone and starts playing music, volume works but nothing else works. I tried the Next/Previous button on both the steering wheel and the head unit itself but neither of them changes track. I did have that problem before but now it seems permanent.
Not sure if it's Spotify update that caused it or something failing in my car.  Oh and the Mute button usually pauses the music on Spotify but now it doesn't do that!

Anyone else having the same problem?

7 months of abarth ownership, I now need a new shock absorber. Luckily, my warranty cover this. Makes me wonder what else will fail on not-even-a-year-old car   >:(

General Chat / Walkie-Talkies on Road Trip
« on: May 28, 2016, 07:05:44 PM »
Bought my self a 2-way Walkie-Talkie from Maplins and I was asking so many questions about it that I forgot to ask about range when you're in a cage of steel. on the box, it says it can receive transmission from 6 miles away (buildings and mountains will shorten it's length) but I found out the other day that if you and the other car is about 100 meters apart, It doesn't work due to massive signal block from the steel of your car.

Does anyone have this problem? I have the Binatone Action 1100.

otherwise I have to opt for a CB Radio with an external aerial that sits on top of my roof.

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / iPod should work, right?
« on: February 26, 2016, 11:08:56 PM »
Heres another Blue&Me question...

The other day, I plugged my iPhone 5 via USB into the abarth and everything seems to work, Music playing, steering controls works. No problem playing through spotify.

Today, I plugged my iPhone 5 via USB, it charges and plays through spotify but now the steering controls doesn't work! It doesn't even show what I'm playing on the TFT display.

Dont think I'm doing anything wrong. tried plugging it in multiple times and still not working.

Any idea?

General Chat / kerbed
« on: February 08, 2016, 05:16:05 PM »
Yesterday in London, I kerbed my wheel :( I was heartbroken when I saw the mark and now am panicking about what to do!

I parked too close to the kerb (about an inch away) then a SUV decided to park really close in front of me so when I tried to reverse, I would end up kerbing the rear wheel. If i drove forward to adjust my back aligning with the kerb, I would of hit the car in front of me. I decided that neither tactic will work so I did a full lock to the left and reversed, mounting the kerb then full right, dismounting the kerb hoping only the rubber touching the kerb. I was wrong!

I eventually got out the space and drove home. When I got home and checked my rear wheel - No problem! but when i checked my front, there was a chip. Thats when I was heartbroken and fell into tears.

What really annoys me the most if that the car is only a month old!!!!! I'm raging! Does anyone know if there good wheel refurb specialist in the Kent/ East Sussex area?

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / Flashing headlights
« on: January 18, 2016, 09:26:16 PM »
Since I got my car 2 weeks ago, I keep getting flashed by other drivers from both front and back. I've checked my lights, they all working fine, i checked for leaks - all good.

Really, I have no idea why I'm being flashed.
For the front, They might flash me for having the high beams on, well, they thought I did anyway but I dont see why would they flash me from behind.

Anyone got flashers?

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / TTC Button
« on: January 08, 2016, 07:29:04 PM »
I know this thread has been all over the forum but there are answers somewhere on the internet, but I trust the people here.

From what I've read about the TTC, it basically slows the unloaded wheel (cornering) so it grips the asphalt then it equals out when you're out of a corner. Then someone said something about Traction Control.

Is TTC similar to Traction control?

I'm confused as my brothers 1.2 polo moda (70bhp) has traction control button and the abarth which has twice the power doesn't have traction control button to turn off. I'm wondering if the abarth's TTC is similar and if I turn it on, will the wheel spin in the wet without the traction light coming on? I hate when the car judders!

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / MTA slight delay
« on: December 17, 2015, 09:10:48 PM »
Was watching this video and noticed that when the driver was using manual mode, there is like a second delay before  changing gears after he has shifted up/down.
Is this suppose to happen? I thought computers suppose to be a lot quicker.

Abarth 500, 595 & 695 / 4 month wait and delayed again.
« on: December 04, 2015, 02:39:30 AM »
As most of you might know, I've placed a order on a new competizione on the 14th August.
I have been told it would take roughly 2 and a half to 3 month.
Still nothing. Called my dealer and he said my car is still in the building stage and there are manufacturing faults on it. He wouldn't specify but my speculations is on the auto gearbox.
Now I could be waiting till January to pick up the car.

That's 5 month wait.

Has anyone had to wait this long for their car?

General Chat / Abarth Owners Club Map - Where are you!?
« on: October 30, 2015, 07:58:29 PM »

Thought of the idea from my old post for another car group and basically you add your marker and it will show other users where you are from and hopefully it will be easier to do meets.

If you don't like the idea of giving away your location, just put your nearest city.

How do I add myself, I hear you call?
1. This needs to be done on a computer, using a web browser.
2. Open the Map
3. Find your location (or somewhere close to you)
4. Click the 'Add Marker' button under the search bar
5. Click the location that you want the marker to be placed
6. Add your forum name and some basic details about your car (model, colour, etc..)
7. Click Save
