General Chat / Made an abarth household accessory!
« on: September 16, 2016, 08:37:32 PM »
So after being dealt a shitty hand with an eBay purchase of a front whisker, where all the clips had snapped off, I decided rather than chuck it in the bin, I'd make a clock out of it for the shed.

I first took off the badge, nicked the square bolt out and glued the badge back on.
Then used the Dremmel to make the vented badge flat and then popped a drill through the badge where the old square bolt went.
Went to Argos and bought a wall clock for £2 and stripped it down.
Glued the clock motor to the vented badge with a glue gun and added a hook. All in all (other than a 20 minute trip to Argos) took 40 minutes.
Personally I think it's pretty nifty...the missus said its wank!... You decide! Lol

General Chat / Record grey not matching?
« on: September 11, 2016, 05:06:40 PM »
Has anyone else got a series 4 record grey? I thought it was a trick of the light..but I'm coming to the conclusion that one of my skirts don't match the rest. Right down low it looks the same...but who spends there time looking from on the floor?
Think I may have to take it back...that and I'm sure the steering wheel isn't on straight

General Chat / First impressions of series 4 180 comp
« on: September 04, 2016, 02:30:50 PM »
So I've had my series 4 a couple of days and completed a grand total of 48 miles! I've gave it a wash, sealed it and cleaned the interior and have a few thoughts on going from a brand new series 3 to a brand new series 4.
Firstly..I like cleaning cars, but the new bumpers are really fiddly. They hold water in all the crevices and keeps dripping when you've dryer them. They feel a whole lot more plasticky than the old ones ( the missus thinks they ain't very classy!)
The wheels are even more wank to keep clean, whoever designed them needs shooting! The groove that goes all the way round behind the spokes hold filth, and the Matt effect is hard to get rid of water marks.
The new interior is a million times better. I know I came from a yam edition to a comp, but it now feels very very lush. The steering wheel feels like your driving a fancy Audi, and the seats are firm but surprisingly more comfy than the standard leather seats I had before. (However I see my wife's titties bouncing more in these as they don't soak the bumps so well)
The interior carpet feels a lot nicer..not like the Brillo pad stuff in the series 3.
The radio is excellent. The quality and interface is awesome. When on dab it's lost station a few times but comes back on almost immediately.
The boost gauge lights up all the time, and the lights are white and red so more modern.
The dash is better layed out with info with the revs in the middle and fuel gauge replacing the throttle percentage.
The book pack is leather..which feels more in keeping with modern times
Monza has a howl on throttle compared to the bombardone that popped and banged and sounded like a big boy car. Not sure which I prefer the most..but that can only be a good thing.

I've since fitted a set of heko deflectors and have purchased the most important thing any new owner must buy! It cost me a quid and will be invaluable!

General Chat / Read this...this is the way this forum should be!
« on: August 25, 2016, 08:42:46 PM »
Right after seeing a few threads moaning about swearing, arguments and other boring shit.. I thought I'd share my views!

Not all people are the same, there will be difference of opinions.. Not everyone were brought up in the same way and have different backgrounds so people have different ways of talking and expressing themselves!

Now if you want a forum that's boring and so policed so only certain people fit in..then that's fine but you can count me out...and this forum will not grow!

I became a member of the Ktm forum when there were a handful of members and has 10 years later got 32000 members..and the reason for this is diversity! Now I strongly suggest you read the thread linky poo below and look at the sort of members and non policed comments, and think about what policing this forum will do to to prospect members. Not only is it uninviting for people looking for answers to questions so they never come back..and for people with an opinion (like me) where if you don't agree with the norm..your frowned upon!

Like I said..read the thread!

General Chat / ive gone and done the unthinkable.
« on: August 13, 2016, 03:25:34 PM »
So after walking into sturgess abarth 2 months ago and just whim buying a Yamaha factory edition, putting a private plate on this week, I've gone and traded it in for the car i should have bought in the first place.. A series 4 180comp!

To say I'm impulsive is an understatement! Can't believe I have traded in a 2month old car!
To be fair, after speaking to sturgess and walking out in disgust at their offer and treatment of a returning customer I had all but given up on the idea, but after being contacted by Olly at research Nuneaton who has done me an amazing deal and got me what I wanted even as new customer..I have nothing but praise for research.
Got to wait till September for the car to be registered, but that gives me a chance to take the reg plate off again!  ::)
Is the car worth the extra money? Maybe.
Is the new car faster? Not really?
Worth buying for the whistling Garrett? FUCK YEAH!
