Meets & Events / Club meet/karting event in Milton keynes?
« on: August 10, 2017, 07:31:12 PM »
Hi,

I have been looking for a venue for an event for those of us in the Beds/Bucks/Herts/Northants, and hit upon the idea of contacting the Daytona Karting Centre here in Milton Keynes.

They can offer a variety of events up to full use of the kartting track, as shown below:

"Regarding the kart racing, with 30-50 drivers, I would recommend a Team Endurance Race.

Please find attached an event proposal that I have prepared for you, with information and prices on the exclusive race formats that would suit your group, plus recommended extras which may be added, to complete your exciting experience.

We provide all necessary race gear, exclusive use of our renowned 1200m International Circuit, standard trophies for the top 3 teams, individual lap-time printouts for everyone and commemorative photos to capture the moment."

I've attached the brochures to the message so I'd be interested to see what level of interest there is - but obviously there is reasonable cost to run this sort of event.

Let's see what sort of response there is and if worth it I can progress it more

Graeme

Hi All,

Sorry for being a bit remiss in not checking your responses more often.

I'll put this up on the FB page as well to see if we get a few more responses - since we've had responses form MK, Leighton Buzzard and Cambs, I'll have a think about a central venue, to include Northampton as well as I know at least one person there would be interested.

Hi Malou,

Good to hear from you...I thought maybe you'd sold the Abarth and moved on to something new!

I'll give it a week or so to see if we get some more responses before I do anything, but had a thought about seeing if we could meet at the Daytona karting track here in MK.

General Chat / Abarths in Beds/Bucks/Northants - local meet?
« on: January 09, 2017, 10:05:06 PM »
Hi all,

It has been suggested on the FB page that we should try and arrange a few more meets, local to our areas, to keep the social side of the club going.

I've offered to see whether there are enough of us in the areas shown in the title to make a local meet a viable option - I know of a couple - Chris Church, Malou - but now sure how many more there are

Let me know if you're in that sort of area, or are willing to travel to somewhere in that area for a local meet

I'm in Milton Keynes

Regards

Graeme

Hi,

It looks like your is a design specific to cabrio versions and the bolt-on version is specific to hard tops. I'm not going to drill into the car so may have to look at alternatives, or do without! Thanks anyway.

Thanks for the info - I remember it looked great on the back of you car at Brands Hatch, and yes it's gonna be for a picnic hamper

Edit - I just checked on their UK website but the one shown fitted to a Fiat 500 is different to yours; it looks like I would have to remove the Abarth badge to fit it as there are no vertical bars clipped on to the boot like yours.

I'll investigate further!

Can you give some details of where you got your tailgate luggage rack from please? You did tell me when we chatted at Brands Hatch but the details have been forgotten...

Do we go in via the side entrance as we did last year?

We should be there as we're in Canterbury the night before and it's on our way home-ish
