Abarth 124 / Re: Going thru the change.
« on: October 19, 2017, 11:11:34 AM »
Lee! You've swapped the little beasty! How are you finding the 124?
I've been comp-less almost a year now and miss it rotten! I get jealous every time I see them on the road. But the ST is very much a mum wagon and wouldn't have wanted that for the Abarth.

Introductions / Re: New owner from Ipswich

Hey Nick.  Welcome along.    ;D

What model is the new car?  Is it the 140bhp Custom, or have you got yourself an Esseesse?  Sounds like a lovely little car, whichever it is.

You'll find it to be quite a bit 'rawer' than the Fiesta, but such a cheeky little car.  Am definitely looking forward to seeing what you think of the two cars side by side, especially with the MR230.  (I'll hopefully have my kit fitted soon!!  :o )

You can pick up some Selenia Oil and a filter from Shop4Parts, but bare in mind you will need 2 tins for one oil change.

Get some pics up when you've collected it.   :)

Nope, still at the same £12k, but it's on 7000 miles.   ;)

do i read only 7000 miles? very good price for the car

Yep, very low mileage and very well looked after. It's cleaner than the car I traded it in for and that less than a year old.

Considering it's got over £3500 of mods fitted as well...

Thanks for the input guys.

Clare. Is this with the standard shocks? Did you have to put the coupe bump stops on the rear too?

Yes, changed the rear bump stops too.  I'm now wondering if they came with replacement ones or not, so didn't actually need the coupe ones.  Might be worth checking before buying.

Standard Competizione Koni shocks yeah.

Spoke to TMC. They provide new bump stops for the front but not the rear. Just confirming it is fiat coupe rears I need?

Thanks

Yep, they are the ones.  Easily get them from ebay.

Sam, this is mine on Novitec's.  Novitec's are generally regarded as the lowest springs available.  However, it does make the car pretty low; I needed to go on low rise ramps to then be able to jack the car up.

Also, a lot of people talk about levelling the car,as the back does sit higher than the front, even to the point of just putting springs on the rear.  Personally I think this is not sensible, surely Abarth make the car rake from the factory for a reason?  Personal opinion, but I wouldn't be trying to level it out.

So, just over a week ago I traded in my Abarth for something slightly bigger due to another addition to my family arriving next year.

Evans Halshaw have put it up for sale, and some lucky sod is going to get an absolute fantastic car for a ridiculous price!

The pictures do not do the car justice at all, and absolutely no 'description', so someone will get rather a surprise on a test drive:

Your Abarth / Re: Modified PCP
« on: November 26, 2016, 01:02:23 AM »
Lee, you thinking of chopping it in!!??

I paid mine off 3 days before I part ex'd, but it was Evans Halshaw not Greedy Hopkins.

You know how heavily modified mine was and not even a flick of an eyelid. They had no idea it was modified at all. I'm very interested to read what they say when it goes up for sale...!!

BUT, handing back to the dealers rather than pay it, they will be a bit more thorough I would have thought. They might notice the springs, but I'd presume they'd only notice the mapping if they plugged into the OBD. I don't think you can do anything about the remap now though anyway.

Your Abarth / Re: Campovolo Grey 595 Competizione

It does yeah. And I have to admit so far I am pretty impressed.  :o :-X

I'd never been seen dead in an SUV I'm afraid even if it does have 500bhp. Lol! I am most certainly not a school mum run. Ha ha ha.

Hopefully I'll be back in a little Abarth in a couple of years though.  It's those wonderful Sabelts that just weren't quite flexible enough to get baby seat past.  :(

For Sale / Re: Wind deflectors & Competizione mats for sale
« on: November 23, 2016, 08:51:43 AM »
Hi guys,

I've had a look on Royal Mail website at postage costs for the wind deflectors.  They weigh hardly nothing, but because of the length, it is coming up as large parcel, which is £12 to post!  This would take the cost up to almost the price of a new set, so wanted to check if you guys are still interested?  If not, then might be best to do them collection only.

Let me know.
Clare

MATS NOW SOLD TOO.

Hi all, due to trading my car in over the weekend, I have a few bits for sale if anyone is interested.  Will get pictures up tomorrow.

SOLD - Dark tinted 'lexus' style red/clear rear lights.  Had these on the car less than a year, and no blown bulbs!!  £50.00 + postage

SOLD - Team Heko wind defectors.  £10.00 + postage

Original Abarth 595 Competizione floor mats.  £70.00 + postage
I took these out of the car as soon as I got it and replaced with cheap ones to keep them as new, therefore they are in mint condition.  These are £127 on Partsworld.

I'm in Wickford, Essex to save postage if anyone interested is not too far away.

Thanks

Clare
