That's reassuring because I really want to keep the car for a few years.  I will be having it serviced at Ponthir Hereford (miles from me in S Warwickshire but I like the drive and have found Ponthir really excellent).  Incidentally Grey Thunder I got a £75 voucher for my next service following my moan about the Navigation update 9or lack of!).

I'm just coming up to the end of my PCP agreement and I am intending to pay the balloon amount and keep the car.  Two things will determine whether I go ahead:-

1.  The market value of the car compared to the amount I need to pay (obviously!); and

2.  A concern about emissions now and in the future.  This is one of the main reasons why Fiat ceased production of the 124 Spider, and I must say with the Monza exhaust, it is fairly smelly.  Has anyone had an MOT failure so far on this question?  With emission standards inevitably tightening over the next few years will the car be forced off the road eventually, or need significant alterations to remain legal here in UK.

Just done the XCOPY routine on to my 16GB SD card.  Worked a treat!

Just as well as I have just heard from Abarth in Italy that there is no resolution to upgrading the existing card as Naviextras have removed the option to exclude certain regions in the upgrade process.  This may run on for several months as apparently thousands of cars are affected but my free updates expire in September 2021 so I will probably miss out.

I did try copying the SD card to a bigger card (16GB).  It did the upgrade OK on Map Update but when I put it in the car the nav would not load and I was just left with the continuous spinning wheel!

I've sent screenshots of the app to FCA UK - let's see if anything comes of it.  It's Naviextras problem to resolve I think.  No one else has pitched in on this - are we the only two?  Incidentally I am a Mac user.

I just tried to do the update (several times!) but got virtually the same server problem message after selecting "Manage Content" then "Region".

Do you need the Russian maps?  As I recall when I did this last I had the same situation and just deselected Russia.

Inspired me to have a go at this now the weather has improved.  Bought the Dodo sheets on eBay (delivered next day!) and I am impressed with the result.  It will make long journeys more pleasant particularly with the hood up and yet I still have that Monza for all to hear!

Just had my exhaust rear section replaced under warranty so I'm off to Halfords for the Silicon lubricant!  Thanks for the advice.  I wonder how many rear exhausts have had to be changed as it seems a recurring problem.

I only ever put my cover on after it has been cleaned and has fully dried out.  I don't have an enclosed garage only a farm cartshed (bit like a carport) so it gets dusty particularly when it's windy.

I got mine from Moss Europe -https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/aerial-stubby-909-676.html.  I paid about £15 but it seems to have gone up a bit.  Works fine for me on both DAB and FM in the UK.  Also I can put my cover on without having to dismantle the aerial.

« on: April 10, 2020, 08:12:55 PM »
Beautiful day in lockdown - nothing exciting to do so I finally decided to have a go at installing Stuart's (Stuclark) reversing camera.  I was hoping to have him do it but with current state of affairs this could have been months away as there is no way I can get to his place.  Anyway I managed to do it without too much hassle following Stu's excellent instructions to the letter.  I would suggest if I can do this then anyone can. Unbelievable upgrade for the price www.124spider.uk
