Title: £1.79 rear wiper delete mod - step by step guide
Post by: Stef Villagreen on August 29, 2016, 12:58:01 PM
Afternoon all, so after mitcar yesterday and having a chat with Adam around his rear wiper delete I decided to give it a go myself today. Relatively easy mod for those who want to do it. Appriciate it won't be to everyone's taste as some want a rear wiper but here is the step by step guide on how to do it should you chose too.

Will put this in the guide section too as over time it may get lost in this thread.

Also the whole modification cost all of £1.79 :)

Tools needed:
- 10mm socket wrench
- 3/16 Alan key
- flat head screwdriver
- 25mm blanking gromit from halfords
- 30mins of your time

Start with the 10mm socket and remove the wiper.

Then remove the boot close leather strap with the Alan key and unplug the plastic clips. I used the flat head to prong them out then the carpet will come down and expose the wiper motor.

Then using the flat head screwdriver to press down on the connector cable to the motor you can then unplug the cable and access all 3 of the  bolts (can't unbolt one unless the cable is removed as it covers the bolt). Using the same 3/16 Alan key you can then remove the wiper motor.

Remove the original grommet, give the area a clean (don't have to do his) and the replace it with the new 25mm blanking grommet.

30 mins later you are done. Here is the before and after.

Hope this helps anyone who wants to do a wiper delete.

A little bit more expensive but more flush. I'm very happy with it.
