Same as the happy thread, except things that have made you sad or put you in a bad mood!
For me, its how dirty my car is!
-
the amount of grit/salt on the road at the moment, my car is so filthy all the time!
-
Its so annoying!
Im rinsing my car every day :(
-
Waking up several million times in the night thinking I had missed my alarm.
-
Could do with summer now :) too cold and the cars too dirty all the time!
-
Yep same here hate to see the APE dirty :-(
-
I have to say a dirty car too
Can't bare to see my Aletta dirty
-
having last driven the Abarth on January 2nd!!!! :'( Don't really want to take her out in the rubbish weather, but still itching to get her back on the road.
-
Not having more money available for mods :'( :P
-
Parcelforce sending my exhaust to the wrong hub so instead of being delivered today it wont be until Monday!
Fuming!!
-
Having to leave my 500 at the tuners, apparently they need a 595 to compare it with #nothappyabarther
-
Someone using their windscreen washers in front of you at the traffic lights covering you nice clean car in dirty water :(
-
Getting everything ready to go to The Ace for the first time, and feeling to unwell to go!
We'll get there soon and meet everyone. :(

We'll get there soon and meet everyone. :(
It's every month...... and turnout increases massively once we get some light evenings.
-
Not getting any deliveries for my car!
-
Afraid not. I'm on meds and they're pretty tiring. I don't reckon driving semi stoned is a good idea. But we will make it soon.
SWMBO is already asking if we're taking Little Taz to Silverstone or any other meet.
-
Waiting for feedback from TMC on whether they have sourced the Evo Koni Kit, been waiting a week and have only had an email when I have emailed first asking for updates to which I've had the response, waiting for supplier from Italy and that's it. Not very detailed in response considering they have just under £700 of my money. Although I'm sure they are busy, would be nice if they weren't so vague in response as to what may be happening.
Ordered them a week ago, might just get a refund and forget about getting it now and just have the esseesse springs fitted

That's a very poor attitude towards customers and not good advertising for TMC. Sorry to hear that you're going through this. But a total lack of communication with suppliers once they've got your money seems to be the norm these days.
Hopefully you'll get everything sorted.
-
Not trying to tarnish their name or anything I'm sure they are very good most of the time but just feel like I am not being kept informed of what is happening. Hopefully will get sorted soon. Emailed them about 12 asking for an update and had no response :(
-
Going outside to move my car and finding it's been target practice for the winged rodents :(
-
My other half suggesting that we go to IKEA. The good news is that she wants to go in Taz, and she's promised I CAN have the meatballs! ;D
-
Well after 45yrs of driving the B'stards finally got me, 60 in a 50. After all the big engine cars I've owned over the years its the little abaarth who has done for me. My fault not seeing the speed van.

Oh dear Jack, I suffered this fate too a few years ago. How long do the points affect your insurance?
I'm in a bad mood as I've been sick with some nasty arse virus since Wednesday
-
4 yrs the points stay on your licence I think. I hope with a clean record they offer me a educational course. You can check your licence online now at https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence
Sorry your not to well hope you are better for next weeks meet. I expect your being well looked after by Emma.
-
Sorry to hear that Jack. I know just how you feel. I got done for 100 when I was on my GSXR750. Funny that I was surrounded by three cars only doing 70! Lying bike hating bastards!!
it could be worse though. What about this guy today?

Stone Chip in Windscreen >:(
-
Autoglass repair.... Autoglass replace! :P
-
Not exactly a bad mood but just realized I have spent well over £100 quid without noticing making purchases on car cleaning products I don't exactly need until July... Still have a clay mitt and wheel sealant to get before I have a full decontamination kit for 2 years+ I hope! I get excited too easily :-[
-

So far I'm the same.
Upgraded lights, mudflaps, wind deflectors, smoked indicator repeaters, and now I'm looking at those rear light units! If I was married to SWMBO it'd be grounds for divorce!
-
You get seriously carried away, I shudder at the thought of how much in total will be on my car shelf well I get the few things I have left but likely 200+....... dam Abarths! :p
-
Using my car for the first time in 5months and its rained >:(
-
Another Ace Night missed due to chemotherapy! Cock!...And so we look forward to next month's meet.
Have a great night.
-
Hope all goes well regarding it Taz and your finished with it soon!

Received my speeding options today, option one, Educational course. A 4hr Sat morning lesson £85. option 2 Fixed penalty £100 fine & 3points.
Took option one but it looks like you don't get lunch any more, times are 9am to 1pm or 2pm to 6pm.
Note to self must concentrate on spotting these speed vans.

I had to do the course (39 in 30) to be fair it did help, my speed in built up areas has decreased, but on A roads/motorways it's still the same!

Another wheel bearing gone >:( I'm convinced this car hates me!
-
F***ing kids!
Just leaving Tesco car park (in Mansfield) it backs onto a new youth/sports centre and as I was driving past it I heard an almight clang! Get out and I can see that the drivers side rear wing (near rear window) has a tiny dent and a decent-sized chip. >:(
As I stood there I saw a couple of small stones come over and land in the car park (no other cars nearby fortunately)
Couldn't see who threw it as there's an 8ft high, wooden fence. Ran over and jumped up on fence and gave a group of guilty looking lads a rollocking, but of course no-one knew anything....... They were only around 10 so it's not even like police would be interested - can't even sue the buggers!
Don't think they'll be throwing stones again in a hurry - but doesn't do my baby any good! The bonet is already full of stone chips - but I was rather hoping that the rest would remain in good nick! That matt black wrap is looking more and more desireable £1500 though........
Still in a foul-mood. Sat with a coke with a hefty amount of Jack in it!
-
I'd have jumped the fence and gave them a proper fright, along with a sore face regardless of age! Kids doing stuff like that really pushes my buttons and even more infuriating when the police do nothing about it despite giving them there names, address etc. We have got it around here a few times.
-
I've calmed down a bit now - the icing on a sh*tty day :(
I suppose it's karma - when I look back I was a right little sh*t at times - part of growing up is getting up to mischief, and I reckon I did worse - (not to people's cars but in general) . Not pleasant that it's my car that has a chip, as it's the car that I work my tits off to afford...... but now my blood has de-boiled I can shrug it off........... otherwise I'd go mad! I wish it was an adult that did it so I could have chinned him lol!
I'm avoiding that Tescos from now on - years ago when I got my brand new 10 plate APE - some fucker dinged the wing (with a trolley from the height, though that's only a guess as no note left) and scraped the paintwork to bare metal across a 3 inch scratch - I'd only had the car a couple of months from new :( This time round a A500 a couple of months into ownership (at least it's not new!) and another bit of damage.
**££%%!
-
Had a lovely day at the seaside with my better half. ;D Until we noticed seagull crap on the paintwork!! :o Guess what I had to do as soon as we got back to Oxford???? ::)
-
My Auntie died suddenly last night, got a phone call from my uncle at 3 in the morning, heart attack, she was only 53 so very unexpected and no history. One of many but her and my Uncle were the closest relatives to my family and we went on holidays every year together, shocked... :-\
-
Sorry for you loss Brian. It's always that much harder to take when it's unexpected (no warning)
My best mate died nearly 2 years ago while we were out on our motorbikes together a few years ago. Car turned into a hidden junction without indicating as he went to overtake and had a head on. He was only 23.
Just remember the good times. Although time doesn't heal the pain you learn to live with it.
-
Thanks Coxy. I know its a part of life these things happening, like you said times the best healer. That sounds horrible your experience with your friend and a year younger than me as well, so sad.
-
No Problem Brian.
Yeah I was 23 at the time too, going to be 25 in a few weeks & its still hard to take that he's gone but like you said that's life & unfortunately these things happen.
I'll never get around the fact that he's not here anymore but time does help you to learn to deal with it. Just support yourself with your family & you'll all help each other to come through it.
-
I'm so sorry to hear your terrible news Brian. Puts my previous moan in perspective.
As Coxy said. Remember the good times, and they'll always be with you.
-
Sorry to hear Brian, hope your ok
-
Thanks for the kind words guys. I deal with this sort of thing very well but it's when I see others, my cousins, 3 of them will be in a terrible state losing there mum, then my Uncle as well who is usually so cheery found her slumped at the kitchen table while he was getting ready to take her to the hospital, he was a mess. It's seeing how it effects others that gets to me.
Taz I think your moans are very just, your dealing with a very tough situation yourself, I hope it all ends in good news for you though! Thanks Gibs, I will be fine.
-
So sorry to hear of your loss Brian,my thoughts and condolences to you and your family at this sad time
-
Well, that's it started. Taz has picked up her first two stone chips! Now I've got to try and sort them out. I picked up the paint and lacquer touch up from Thames Abarth yesterday. The learning curve starts here. Any advice??? Please???
-
Just a case of dabbing it on I think? less is more is the only advice I have! ;)
-
Dan it on with a cocktail stick, smallest amount you can do. Couple of coats of paint, then the clear coat. The clear coat will probably blob a little as it is quite thick, so wait a few hours for it to dry, then use a gentle polish to flatten it down. It probably won't be perfect, but shouldn't be noticeable unless you know where you're looking 8)
-
I've seen a couple of suggestions to mix the clear coat with the paint instead of using it as a secondary coat. Has anyone ever seen or tried this? Seems a bit counter intuitive to me.
-
Although not the same thing, when previously applying my first hard wax from Auto Finesse, instead of following the manufacturers guides of leaving it to cure only 1-2 mins.
I read on detailing world from someone it was best to leave 20+ minutes then wipe off, basically apply it to the whole car then go back to the start and start buffing... WHAT A LOT OF S!#T
The buffing took me about 40 minutes and a very sore arm/shoulder to go with it, absolute nightmare and had me worrying I made a mistake going to hard wax's... thankfully another coat a week later doing one panel at a time following the instructions worked out much better....
Moral of the story, don't listen to random suggestions from people on the internet, stick to what the manufacturer suggests! ;)
-
I am in a really bad mood now, I booked last week to have the panel wrapped between the windscreen and sunroof due to stone damage(I already have the bonnet & spoiler wrapped in carbon.) I turn up at 10am as arranged, placed lock up, calls and messages left no one calls back. I am also waiting for a hermes delivery which has been with the local courier since 7.30am Sat.

What a shit shit situation you're in :( I have found two big stone chips on my bonnet :(

Just shut my naffing thumb in the car door :o

Realising your 2l of engine oil is enough so having to order another can... due to shipping its a tenner more than the last 2l I got from the same place! ::)
-
Another attack, so I'm back in hospital. Need to take Taz out at the weekend to cheer myself up.
-
Dam Taz sorry to hear that. Hopefully get well soon! :-[
-
Abarth broken again :( starting to wear thin now the amount of problems I've had with it in less than a year. Didn't expect it to be this bad. Really annoying me.
-
Sounds like you have picked up one of the mistreated ones Mal as they seem fairly reliable over all :(
-
Yeah I think so. But at least when it works its more of a occasion haha. Glad I've got other stuff to drive or I'd have got rid of the abarth months ago. Which is a shame as I adore my abarth.
-
David cameron
-
So today is probably the worst day I've ever had. Reversing up a narrow road a bit too quickly, car popped out of reverse, front wheels locked up, whole car span around and got wedged between both hedges. I really hope it's not a write off..I'm absolutely heartbroken. :'( :'(
-
And the photos have posted upside down. As Peter Griffin would say, 'that would be the ending to this day'.
-
Really sorry to hear about the car, but looking at the pictures I would be incredibly incredibly surprised if it was a write off :)
-
Couple of bumpers and checks then you'll be back in the road in no time!
-
Hubs drove her yesterday, and then failed to tell me she was on reserve until about 3 minutes before I left for work this morning, by which time it was too late to fill her up. Had to take Kung Fu Panda instead and I missed out on a nice sunny Abarth drive to and from work. Grrrrrrrrr........ >:(
-
My car has been declared a write off by my insurance company :( time to go car shopping I guess...
-
A write off?!
But there is only very light damage to the bodywork? Do you know why they have deemed it a write off? if there integral damage to the body frame we can't see as I would question there decision otherwise!
-
mum went in for chemo today :(
-
Hope all goes well for her Jay_Tee.
Fish
-
Same Jay_Tee, stay positive mate! Lot more treatable these days!
-
Fingers crossed for her Jay_Tee. She'll be fine.
-
5 day old MTEC DRLs and ones blew already
Back to PIAA for me

damage to the rear right of the chassis, it's bent a bit so will be expensive to put right, got a decent payout from Admiral though and I'm going to Westover Abarth tomorrow to hopefully pick up a new car.
-
Being ripped off by Warranty Wise so mad right now.
Grrrrrrrr >:(
Martin
-
Woke up to one of my pet frogs dead (it was a new addition and only a youngster) so very gutted. Whats worse is he was a gift to the wife for an anniversary present so seeing her upset is not nice either. Topping it off I am also deaf in one ear due to loud music causing it to block up (on going issue).
So pretty bummed out right now :(
-
Being told that the door cards in my on-order 595, with red leather sabelts, will be black not red...grrr
Not happy, have told the dealership that somewhere between them and the factory they can come up with two red door cards surely?
-

I have black door cards with my red leather seats too. It seems to be the common thing now with the red leather unfortunately. Not that that makes you feel any better. Would have preferred the red door cards myself too.
***Edit***
Stolen from elsewhere:
It has now been confirmed that as the Red "leather" Sabelt seat actually contains no red leather at all (the red bits are alcantara) the door card will be black.
The Tan, and Grey seats do actually contain some coloured leather so the door cards on those to options will match the colour of the seats
He is right, there isn't actually any red leather, so it does make sense!

I keep getting a message saying that Abarth Owners club has merged and telling me to re register. Then when I do it tells me that someone else is using Taz, and my email address. WTF is going on? >:( >:(

That sounds like you are trying to come in via The ScorpionCLub. We have merged with them, and any traffic to their site should reroute you here. But if you come to this site natively, and sign on, you should not be seeing anything about mergers. If you can tell us precisely what you are doing, we may be able to investigate (or explain).

Makes me laugh, 25 with 8 years no claims and no convictions. Just been doing some quotes just out of curiosity of adding a Air Filter to my car when i renew in October and the quote rose by £350 its unbelievable.
Considering its debate-able whether performance levels increase that much anyway! I making me wonder whether its even worth doing it even though i really want too! only other option is say nothing but i think honesty is the best policy :(
-
Sounds ridiculous... it only cost me 20 quid for a tuning box with admiral...
-
Found some butt faced idiot has put a nice little ding in the rear n/s quarter. :(

was it a crow/raven? we had some of those round our close a few years ago - hubs lost a couple of sets of wipers to the vicious little buggers. But bad news about your car getting up all scratched, too :(
-
Yeah it's a crow I think. Never caught it, but all of next doors have been done too! Doesn't seem to want to go for anyone's front wipers (which are easier to get at) Just enjoys ripping them off and chucking them on the floor next to it.
It's not attempted to go near mine since de-wipering.
Chris

They have stripped the main roads where I live of all tarmac leaving all the metal gratings exposed over the last few days. So its either leave the car on the drive or slalom like a man possessed which is not really possible as its such a busy road.
Not a biggy but hoping its sorted by the weekend as I am rather partial to a nice weekend spin.
-
Just looked at the weather forecast for the weekend, its say rain, rain and more bloody rain. typical when I need black betty to look her best for Chalmondley pageant of power.
-
Had my wing mirror clipped by another car today, thankfully only a couple of minor scratches on the lid, glass intact and an off duty plod stopped and gave me the registration of the car and his details. Will be stopping at my local station to collect a self reporting form to complete tonight.
Fish
-
Was fortunate the off duty cop was there to note down the car details :)

When i sometimes forgets that Abarth A500 has 5 gears only and a few time it happended that when in fifth gear i tried to go in 6th gear when there is only 5 and you can hear rrrrrrrrrr sound in the gear....upssss

Dave Grohl's broken leg...
Means no Wembley on Friday. Booo!!

Another of my attacks put me in hospital yesterday evening. Can't go fishing. Can't drive Taz. Not the way I intended to spend a week's leave.
-
Sorry to hear that Taz, was it an asthma attack?
Fish
-
Sorry to hear that Taz, was it an asthma attack?
Fish
No. It's a chronic disease called C1 inhibitor deficiency. Keeps trying to bump me off. So I cheer myself up by driving my Abarth. Just wish I'd bought one earlier.
-
Sorry to hear that Taz. Hope your back to full health soon!

The kids playing around my car on their scooters is putting me in a bad mood. Last summer and the summer before has cost me just over 300 quid fixing the scratches. I asked them nicely over the years and have fell out big time with their parents. They call me the bad man which I'm not, just want to be at peace when at home and my car safe. Perhaps a couple of air rifles is the next option, a 177 for the kids and a 22 for the parents. itll keep me entertained at least, got to be better than sieving through the 100 channels of rubbish on TV ::)

Two occasions in the last 2 days
1st - Yesterday I was driving along side the A40 and turned left to pick up my friend, but my friend wasn't there, so I have to re-join A40. I can only re-join A40 if turn left again, looked very well on my right and re-jojn on the slow lane. I haven't spotted anyone, when I came out quickly someone was beeping very loudly at me, I was in the slow lane when turned and 2 Chine's or Japanese guys or which ever where in the middle lane and they really were beeping at me and showing me middle finger, I was just driving slowly along the side of them and they still showing me middle finger. I didn't react really much, just staring at them. They were really looking for the trouble driving along side of my and yelling something at me. I didn't really pay attention, but I spotted the advantage. I quickly pressed "Sport Mode" and accelerated very hard and in the front of me were traffic lights and with accelerations and with traffic lights turning to red I have disappeared from them and tried to fallow but good job it wasn't speed cameras at the scene so driving more than 60mph I lost them.
2nd - was tonight. Driving along side from North on the North circular Road, there were 5 guys in Nissan Micra old style and driving very closely to me and showing off and going from one lane into another, After Ikea lights there wasn't any speed camera that I knew, I have accelerated hard again in Sport Mode and passed them by for just an inch and drove off 80mph and left them in a smoke and they couldn't fallow me...
I mean some people I really don't get their behaviour.
-
Oliver things like that sometimes put me in a good mood lol. I had a brand new bmw 1 series 15plate full of 'gangsters' they horning at me getting up my arse and shoutong stop driving a girls car. At the next set of lights i put my car in sport and zoomed off and they couldnt keep up lool
-
It did put me in good mood after being left them in a smoke, but just saying how some people find the way to irritates you.

Oxford Council have resurfaced all the roads where I live with loose chippings.
Bastards! It shouldn't be allowed. Not one driver today has kept their speed down. Taz's paintwork wouldn't stand a chance. >:(

Being told that the expected delivery date for my 595 Comp has been put back another 6 weeks, supposedly due to the production line stopping to allow the 500 upgraded body to be produced.
Not impressed to have ordered the car in May and take delivery late September... :(

Was supposed to get my car back yesterday after months without it but had over fueling issues, apparently the car was spitting large flames on up shifts!

3 series drivers are the worst😁

Lately is my job. Hated every single time or day to come. It is time to chsnge the carrier.

Driving into and out of Manchester today!
Bloody nightmare, late last week a sink hole appeared on a major route, obviously this will cause major problems for people coming in from the south of the city, never mind says the local bollock brain planners, lets carry on with major gas main works on the north side starting this morning.
It took 30 minutes to get from Bacup to within a smidge of the city centre and then an hour to travel the last 1/2 mile :-[
I know this is probably a daily routine for some out there, but not for us!

Went to change my brake pads now that my local fiat dealership is an Abarth one went to them. They had rhe car for the day as expected they rang me up saying the work is done. I go pick up my car and pay the price. I drive down the road and my brakes fail on me!!! They became worse than before and i had to stomp on the brake pedal to have any effect at all. I turn arund go back and they dont believe me. I made sure they dealt with it and checked it properly as it was closing time they wanted me to walk home. I refused and told them you got 3 Abarths there which say courtesy car give me one they come out with a 1.2 fiat 500 pop. So annoying!

Today my boss. I have got ill today and not sure if 100% coming tomorrow for surrey run with the guys. My boss don't want to say that he is d...k but questioning my sickness, i can't fucking control my sickness and if emergency comes up. In my 10 years back i only have been lately ill as of this year and once last year.
I can't control the nature and my Boss isn't human, I questioning sometimes. Feed up with the way some company is treating your employers...just at home with cup of fruit tea and ready for bed as hopefully will be better tomorrow.

Keep your chin up Oliver and get better mate. Get a good nights sleep, ignore him and tomorrow is a new day my friend :)

Yet another weekend with no car😁
-
That's transference👍
It's driving me crazy, the file has been made but it's impossible to map on the road as it shoots through the revs in 1 second 1st,2 in 2nd and so on,it's spending a day on the rollers on Tuesday, need to go through it 1k at time in every gear, the main problem now is that I spend my time trawling through various things Abarth to satisfy my addiction!
I found some forged Pistons for a reasonable price so I'm now leaning towards these so we can up the boost to 1.5 and about 280 break, not sure my mechanic will be too happy as I think he's had enough as well😙
-
Waiting for the wittering run boys to turn up

Where were you Paul gone?? Disappearing!!!! You should stick up with us

Stalling my car!
-
Parcel force being morons and delaying a package due to "damage" for 2 days without informing me, who know's how much longer had I note phoned them. Then told it is only the exterior box that has damage, will send it out for tomorrow, arrives and 2 my my Carchem bottle are bloody bashed, with a poor attempt at taping up the broken spray heads and leaked everywhere and now both completely empty... fuming at the total lack of professionalism and blatantly lieing on two occasions to me. Now have to wait on the sender sorting out a claim before I get reimbursed then have to buy direct from carchem.... >:( >:( >:(

Finding out one of my neighbour's cats is using the poor car to climb onto the roof of her property :'(

Some twat has nicked the locking air valves off my wheels :(

That would be kids Jack, stick to normal ones and no one bothers.
Fish
-
I guess so fish...I've had normal ones nicked before as well but I won't be buying locking get ones again...waste of money
-
Did you say locking valves?
-
Yep, you can get them on Amazon with little scorpions on the caps. Shouldn't be able to get them off the wheels without the special tool you get but some dick managed to get mine :/ I checked them every couple of days as well.

Original delivery date 5th September, now "mid October". Ffs wish dealers would be truthful up front >:(

Been in hospital for 6 weeks and I'm pissed off not driving Taz. I need to burn hydrocarbons.

My 2k mile old 180 was damaged tonight by some little pricks who thought it would be hilarious to throw a bottle at the side of the car while driving.
Now I have a tennis ball size piece of damage which has cracked the lacquer and chipped and scratched the paint by the passenger side door on the rear wing.
Unbelievably upset right now.

I'm so sorry for you.

Thanks, Ads. Could we worse, at least I didn't get my car damaged by some dirtbag like poor rare.

As much as I can feel anything today with my woolly head, I rally feel for you, rare. I too, would go with the option of trying to get it sorted professionally. Even if you cover it up with a sticker, you will always fester knowing what's lurking underneath...
-
What I can't understand, is why they do it. Maybe it's my age. But it would never occur to me to damage anyones property.
It really drives me to despair that there is pondlife about who do this kind of thing.
-
No idea, must of been kids. I was driving along a road at about 10:30 nice and gently minding my own business.
The irony is I was thinking about having my springs fitted this week, then all of a sudden WHAM. Got out and the side my car was covered in glass and some kind of sugary liquid.
I spent hours cleaning it yesterday morning as well and was really pleased with how it was looking.
I always put so much in to keeping my cars nice, its always other people that open their door on them etc.
Meh >:(

I picked up two tiny stone chips on mine and that pissed me off. But I can't get my head around what's happened to you.

Know how u feel rare. My neighbour backed into my rear arch and scuffed it. He said being neighbourly go and get some quotes. 2 days later went with some quotes and he denied even been in car. Said i scuffed up his. Had to hold back believe me. Cost £120 to fix as insurance could of gone 50/50 as no witnesses. But knowing car will never be same again still pi**s's me off a year later

It was a bit painful when I saw the damage :( luckily I have a mobile alloy wheel repair guy who is absolutely fantastic coming out next Friday to do the repair :)

We went to the church 4 weeks ago. women parked her car behind me very close...she were driving Nissan Micra very old one. I came out to put my son in a car. Walked towards the car, women with the help of the man tried to come out. Passed by my car very very very close, heard something. But I tried to ignore it. When man was ready to sit in the lady's car, I have looked very closely and saw little scratch and you can notice as she scratched so that I lost the paint only small but very noticeable.
I said have a look, you have scratched the car, my wife pulled me by my shoulders and said "say nothing please" and man or women didn't even said anything, just left the place.
I was furious and said to my wife, how would you feel if someone scratched your new car? She said " What Would Jesus Do"
I said NOTHING
God bless them both. Honestly I was unhappy for the day.
-
Well so far my car is very good behaving giving me 110% of the wanted power..still think back and looking at the scratch, just saying naahhhh
-
Turd nugget parents that let their little shit kids fling the car doors open twating into the car next to them, namely my new 595 comp, then say "oh but its only a small dent" ok, then how about I put an equal size dent in your sons head? Im sure that if I walked up to a stranger in a car park and demanded £100 I would be told to fuck off, but you think you can cause that amount of damage to my property without consequence? Do the planet a favour and take your own life! Too much?
-
If this was me bucks I would do the same. 'It is only a small dent' Yeah, well it will be a small dent on your purse as well bitch! Hope you took her details buck, I do try my best to avoid parking in close spaces, can't always be helped mind.

I really can't add a comment as my rant would probably cross the line of decency😁
I feel your pain😑

Another weekend without my car😩
-
Got my car, but I'm still not allowed to drive it. Really p***ed off that I missed the Ace again last night. But hopefully I'll be able to get her out on the road again soon. Mary's hoping that I'll be well enough to take her for a run to Old Portsmouth on Taz next week. Fingers crossed!

Stone chips :-\ :(
EddCole - agreed. I have found 3 stone chip in my windscreen when cleaned the other day, very annoyed >:(
-
Ads - have sou paid for wind screen been replaced? And if yes, jow much
-
I have never had cars that picked up windscreen chips like the 2 Abarths. Last one: 3 within 3 months, all bad enough to need repairing. Got to know the local Autowindscreens man by his first name....
Then the new one, chip within the first 400 miles. Small but not what you want on a brand new car. :(

Last day at work for my extremely capable and hard-working team colleague, who handed in his notice 4 weeks ago, after they wouldn’t give him a permanent contract after 2 years with the company. He’s not being replaced, so an entire department will now consist of me, myself and I. No provision for holiday or sickness cover. And the role requires extensive use of foreign languages, of which I am now the only speaker. Time to polish up that CV, I think……

Any Croatian speaken there??? I could help

thanks, Oliver, but unfortunately not. Plus I like you too much to inflict this company on you!!! >:(

Maloutant, so they don't offer you a pay rise? Considering being now only one left.
-
Nah no offer of payrise. You're right, ads, will have to start using my lone star status as a negotiating tool. But even then, money can only compensate you for so much. The older I get, the more I get to realise that the one thing you never seem to have enough of in this life is time (but having more dosh ain't bad, either :-). ). Thanks for your support, guys!

Leaving Silverstone yesterday – a massive fight to get out the car park. We all want to get home! Some twat in a 1 series hides no shame in shooting past everyone to try and push in further up the line. He tries to get in front of me but I’m not having any of that so OH tells him to back off and wait his turn. Windows down, and the knob says, ‘it’s not even a real 595’. WTF??!! So he complete ignores the fact he’s been a wanker to just say he had a 595 when they first came out and that mine wasn’t a real one. I have no idea why he reckoned it wasn’t ‘real’; perhaps because he saw the Milltek exhaust and intercooler on the front? Anyhow, petty I know, but it just really angered me that he had the audacity to try and push in and then just abuse my poor car! The car behind me didn’t let him in either though. Ha ha ha!!!
-
Clare, having both a 3- and a 5-series on the drive, my comeback would have been "well you can't even afford a REAL BMW". What a tool! >:(
-
Having to wait till Wednesday to pick up my a595 Trofeo 😩
-
Guessing that was at the touring cars?! I was there saturday :) got a few looks even in my 500 and a couple of people come asking about it 8) That guy would have had a few pops & bangs as I didn't let him in either! ahaha!
-
Ha ha. A small knob, and it was one of those with M badges all over it, but quite clearly not a real 'M' car! So he was certainly one to talk and had no idea what he was talking about!!
Yeah, was the touring cars Paully. I did notice one kid having a good look at mine; they certainly do get the attention. ;D
-
Having a car sat in a dealers service department in piece's (that I can only guess at), waiting for calls that don't get returned, and a customer services department also not returning calls. Fiat Battersea started well, but have now gone down the usual shoddy service of most main dealers, and as for Fiat Customer Services.... What service!

Well i had some fun with the insurance company this morning... Called them to let them know i was lowering my car and having an exhaust fitted and asked for a quote. They came back and told me that they wouldnt insure me!!! Probably because i'm so young (44) with only 10yrs no claims and no points. Managed to get onto the underwriter and theyll insure me for an additional £180 a year despite the fact that the mods are merely cosmetic and dont really alter performance... .. Awesome you think.. Oh no, if i have an accident, they will only pay out the value of the car minus the mods. That doesnt really bother me but then i ask myself why the extra charge? Theres no real increase in risk and theyre not gonna pay out any more money in the event of an accident. Insurance... Money for old rope!!!!!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

What's been putting me in a bad mood, not just for 1 day, but the last couple is the bloody traffic chaos in and around Manchester centre. Some half wit in the planning dept has given one man and his dog permission to build unwanted apartment and office blocks and in doing so, cordon off half the road width of almost every arterial road.
It took 1 1/2 hours to get from the new court building near Hardman Boulevarde (if you know Mancs) to the Ramada Hotel on Deansgate last night.... ( I can walk it in 3 minutes) and then not arriving home until 7:30 having left work at 5.
This morning some poor sod had an accident so getting in to work was a trial, but then still had to negotiate the inner city shite, arriving 1/2 hour late for work.
Sorry for the bad language, but this is piss poor. If I were looking to invest, and relocate my business, Manchester would not be it! >:(

Should contact Admiral, cosmetic changes cost nothing. I was an extra £20 to declare my lowering springs and rear light upgrades. I am only 24 and have 6 years no claims.

Insurance time! Being the sweet old age of 20 insurance is a complete scam, when I had my citreon c2 it was 600 a year and to upgrade to my 2012 plate Abarth at the age of 19 was an extra 340 quid bargin! Now my insurance is due and they want nearly 2,000 pounds... been getting quotes a few weeks ago (so I can start saving ready) of 500-800 quid, now they all want over 1,500... what is going on?! It's a completely stock car, without an alarm is 600 quid more just because it has an immobilizer not an annoying old fashion beeping alarm, great! >:( :(

Just received my renewal this morning, £655 for a middle aged gent with full no claims (9+ years) on the main car and the abarth having 4 years being a second car. Let's just say I'll be making a few calls this week. I wonder how much they will be dropping it when I call them up!

Still no road and the water meter points are obliterating my wheels. The car which i only brought on 21st September. Im now having to try and put a claim in against the builders with no guarantee ill actually get it. I am not a happy bunny to say the least. Ive attached pics for anyone interested, along with the culprit!

I may be missing the obvious here but could you not drive over the drain cover?
-
I think its right in front of his house/driveway?
-
Thanks Andy! Yes its directly in front of our drive and its so difficult to avoid. I do my best to drive over/avoid it, but it sticks up by about 3 inches so occasionally catches it. I know these are small cars but the turning circle isnt great AND the road is only as wide as one and half cars. Stupid design!
-
Yeh the turning circle is ridiculous i have a 3.5tonne fiat van which seems to turn easier lol
-
Fair point, I hear the Ark Royal has a smaller turning circle than the Abarth. And to think I was going to fit spacers to my car! Maybe not.

I'm having a nightmare this morning... Somehow when loading the car to go to work I managed to put my keys inside the boot, I then closed it locking them in.
"Use the spare key" I hear you say...
Conviniently they are also in the boot! (They are always kept with the log books etc.. Which were in the car from when I took it into the dealership last week)
Not my finest moment, I am furious with myself. Awaiting the AA to see if they can do anything...

Metal banding strips or coat hangers would come in handy 🙀

Did this the same day I got my car, went out with a few mates for a dominos run, put the pizzas in the boot so they'd 'stay warm' while we quickly went in the shops to get a drink, well my friend shut the boot without telling me, see you later car keys! Had about 7 people laughing at me because I locked my keys in my brand new car, luckily I had the spare key at home so had to make an emergency call to my parents to get them haha

Well, the AA showed up after an hour waiting around and I was back in the car within 5 minutes! Very impressed with the service, no damage to the car just two wedges, an air bag and a metal rod and he was in... a little concerning that is all it takes to break into a 500 though :/

Pretty much the same way that the RAC got into my Smart car when I locked my key in the boot. Disconcerting but the likelihood of people trying it is pretty slim I'd say.

You know what really grinds my gears.
Having to buy key covers in pairs when you're only issued with one key.

actually, yesterday; and more upset than grumpy. Took my boydog to the vet for one of his monthly check-ups, blood tests and injections. Vet completely messed up the injection and halfway through, he's in massive pain and starts screaming in my arms, while the vet is trying to inject the rest of the liquid, which seemingly takes an eternity. :( Would rather have been stabbed myself with a red hot poker for an hour if that had taken the pain away from him. Discovered some blood in his fur later around the injection point, so she did a proper job on him. :'(

Have you got your boydog insured? Sounds like vet misconduct if you ask me!

Currently pursuing a claim for refurbishment of 2 of my alloys. Currently progressively getting worse. Live in a new build, have been there for 7 months now. Still no road and the water meter points are obliterating my wheels. The car which i only brought on 21st September. Im now having to try and put a claim in against the builders with no guarantee ill actually get it. I am not a happy bunny to say the least. Ive attached pics for anyone interested, along with the culprit!
I just saw this on the BBC News website this morning. Doesn't look like you're alone.

Wow i had no idea it was that bad around the country, thats interesting thank you for forwarding that. I did contact the council who were useless. I just dont understand, the houses go up like lego then the roads and pavements are left. Children are walking in the roads because of it being a trip hazard. I put my claim in a few weeks ago after obtaining several quotes, and they havent had the decency to acknowledge it or anything. Angry is an understatement. Ill let you know how I get on Taz!

Also very happy my boy has his bits still👍
Chris, just had a thought (sorry, others, dog talk): you have the Cotton de Tulear with the bathrobe, right? How big is he? I have 2 hooded towelling robe-thingys that are too small for my 2. Would suit a dog about 30 cms in body length from neck to tail. If suitable for yours, am happy for them to go to a good home.

Hi ya,that's very kind of you,I'll measure him up😉

You may(!) have some fortune by enquiring if they have a section 38 bond, if so, this is generally guaranteed by a Bank, this gives you someone else to register a complaint to. You will of course need to find out where the builder banks, but you or you solicitor must have paid monies some where.
Banks are desperate these days to avoid bad publicity or reputation damage (where is that horse, I know I've got a bolt). At worst, you may be able to prevent the builder getting funding for his next project if the bank view the business owner as a reputation risk. May well force their hand to complete the job to get the bank back on side.
Good luck.

Well got another 4 in reserve. It could be wheels
-
Indeed, as someone has clearly given your car a little too much attention.
-
Well it is an Abarth ;) in deed too much attention
-
Probably kids, they collect dust caps. That one will have some serious bragging rights, rare find those Abarth ones.
Was it Butlins at Bognor? I was there last weekend picking my daughter up. I wasn't stationary long enough lose anything though:)
Yeah it was Buttlins in Bognor Regus.
-
Hi Oliver, thought I saw you in Windsor this afternoon?

Where, when? I did pass 30min ago through Windsor area. Where were you then?

Spying on you....... ???

Someone nicked my Abarth dust caps >:(all 4 gone. Someone at the Buttlins holiday.. >:(
Don't know if you have resolved this to you satisfaction yet, but we bought some 17" 10 spoke wheels with centre caps a while back, obviously we have centre caps on the wheels we have, if you can make use of the spares we have, make a reasonable offer.
Andy

I think it's the dust (valve) caps he's missing.
Certainly nice of you to offer though.

I got the spare one

I hadn't had my A500 that long when some unmentionable piece of shite had all four of mine! >:( To rub salt in the wound, one of my sons bought me a set of Fiat ones for Christmas last year ::) A bit like those hideous items your mother in law gave you as a gift, which you have to remember to put on display when she visits from whichever dark recess they are hidden in the rest of the time! ;D

sliding around in the wet on my brand new yet still shockingly shite Pirelli's...defo going to change to something else when I need a new set >:(
-
yh it's like you aquaplane for the first part of steering input then you gradually get a bit of laboured turn in...to be honest I thought that my virtually new fronts would cope better than they have so far, quite a poor and confidence-denting lack of grip :-[
I seem to be able to put the power down quite well (perhaps due to the TTC), but you certainly lose any kind of precision in the wet on the P-Zero's
-
I've never driven a 500 on a set of P-Zero's but the AGP SS and Supersport have always handled exceptionally well with them.. Certainly better than the Potenza's I have on the Supersport at the moment :(
Must be a very car specific thing?

I'm meant to be out there next week working,it's a crazy world we live in.

Shocking what's happened in Paris and it winds me up that all the world leaders are "condemning" the actions of the terrorist groups but doing nothing about it!!
Pull everyone "western" out of Syria and Afghanistan then drop the bomb on it.
Job done!!
-
Couldn't agree more. We need to make the consequences of this kind of act so horrendous no one would dare do anything like it again, to be honest I thought Putin would have spazzed out more after the plane bombing.
-
it winds me up that all the world leaders are "condemning" the actions of the terrorist groups but doing nothing about it!!
Would that be because they would be tried at terrorists in the countries that they are attacking?
We in the west keep imposing our values on the middle east and east when they don't want it. Why are we doing it.... OIL!!!!!
Keep hitting wasp nests hard enough you're going to get stung I'm afraid.

Got a Volvo XC60 R Design for a few weeks, what a let down, there is no where to rest your left foot when cruising, talk about a schoolboy error ???
No parking sensors as standard?
The lights,or should I say lack of them,I'd be better off glueing a candle to the bonnet.
Huge car on the outside yet no room inside, boot is rubbish.
I'd give it 3 out of 10.
Don't buy one :o

I have one and it's great, we have the manual version and there is somewhere to put your left foot in it, ours has front and rear parking sensors, the Active Xenon headlamps are amazing! they turn as you go around corners , it is just the right size for our family and the boot is the bigest in its class!
We got our one new a year ago and its great, you just need to make sure you tick the right options as in any car.

It's 9am,I'm on train to Waterloo, the service is heavily disrupted, packed train, baby crying it's all going on,could it get any worse you ask yourselves?
Well actually yes, whilst sat stationary at Wimbledon station for 20 mins a huge smelly man. sits next me then opens a packet of extra strong garlick Salami slices and starts stuffing them in his face,I very nearly vommed right there and then, why do people have no respect for others?
Surely he could have gone 15 mins without a Salami fix?
It's 9 in the morning,why Salami!!!
Obviously I had to leave my seat and I sat at the opposite end of the carriage but the smell of raw garlick salami spread through the carriage not unlike the trail of steam from the Bisto gravy advert,it got so bad I had to change carriages.
Nice start to the day.
Rant over.
-
Ads,I credit you with more taste than to rip slices of salami from the packet at 9am,I think I may be mentally scarred from the experience,I'm just hoping it hasn't put me off of spicy meat snacks :-\

If you drive slowly making great pains to drive around the holes, holding up all other traffic at the same time, eventually the message gets through and a repair undertaken.

On the plus side, I am now eating and taking copious amounts of alcohol at every opportunity - probably accounts for putting 5lbs back on! However, swmbo has back problems and in much pain - not only that, it means I am having to do all the housework and cooking! Haven't poisoned us so far! yh he is why I have a passion for cars; he worked as one of Graham Hill's head mechanics, he worked with Colin Chapman building Lotus cars for selected customers. He also built a Maserati V12 F1 engined Hill climb car which broke 15/16 of 17 UK Hill climbs in the same year!
...oh and he finished 3rd, 2nd and 1st within 3 seasons of the British Karting Championship and went back to his Lotus work after becoming champion testing new Lotus cars.
driving was everything to him and now he will never drive a car again

I know exactly what you mean - That always used to annoy me. I find that by repeatedly pressing on the plastic mirror base where it mounts onto the door, in the area where the water trail starts from, you can encourage the trapped water to come out. Holding a damp drying towel or cloth over the area while you do this also helps to draw out the water.

Similar here. But I lived on pretty much a building site for 10 months, they finished all the houses and properly surfaced the road so thought was safe to get new car. But now they are starting a new site across the street so all the mud, dust and associated debris is at the end of our street and we only have one way in and out so can't avoid it.

Rude owners, seriously...
Went to a local car meet today, saw a punto evo and a tricolor 595 custom, when I approached the girl in the 595 custom she shouted my car is crap because it isn't a 595, my car is a 2012 custom which according to abarths scorpionship website is 595 (I called it a 500).
She told me her car was totally different, luckily a few other fellow abarth owners backed me up, the cheek... her friends couldn't spot ANY differences between our cars other than all the options I have including the pearl paint
My car is exactly the same as yours, you have a badge and a set of wheels, then goes to say her exhaust its better than mine! I have a monza she had the standard exhaust. I was fuming, never have I met someone so rude... It's a shame, really a cars options list or badge doesn't make it better than someone elses.

My son opened his car door and the wind caught it and made a nasty dent across the crease on front wing.I was very upset. Luckily Kev the Dent near Redditch came out and with a bit of work with his metal rods the dent has been fixed!! Slowly recovering!!

Couldn't agree more! I'm yet to attend any meets (my first is on Sunday London to Brighton) I am wondering what sort of reception I'm likely to get being a little older than most owners and having a completely stock car. Having belonged to many car clubs in the past. It is unfortunate that the minority continue to spoil it for the majority. I hope the individual you reference has read these comments and takes it into consideration when next conversing with fellow enthusiasts.

Its not worth the extra expense
Higher octane fuel (less combustable fuel) allows the ignition to advance giving more compression and a bigger bang for an equilvant amount of fuel.
That means to achieve similar performance you need less throttle input which uses less fuel hence better fuel economy but I expect what you're doing (along with most people) is using the same throttle input (or more!) and enjoying the extra performance.
It’s also worth remembering that you've been using standard unleaded it takes at least 4 or 5 fill ups with the dear stuff before you start to feel the benefit.

This be why I removed myself after a couple of days from this forums page on FB. Knuckles being dragged around isn't my thing.

When I first got the car I used the expensive stuff, after a few months I had to fill with ordinary fuel and the consumption improved!
So I used ordinary until the last few fill ups and the consumption immediately got worse with VP with the same driving conditions and route
I'll use V-Power every now and then to clean the fuel system through.
Maybe it makes a difference with a Tourisimo or Comp.
Just my experience, not convinced

I'm new to Abarth ownership, but do find it a bit odd on the FB version of this Forum.

Only getting 180 miles for a full tank of vmax!
Fish
Sounds about right for 100% town driving unfortunately. I just filled up at 178 miles.
-
Is that why they are called Competizione 180?
-
Must be as I've just filled up again at 181 miles !

Yup not the most exciting driving but the M25 in surrey is coated in cameras so it keeps your foot lite.

Ridiculous! And that is being v polite!! Can't they source one in U.K. that meets your requirement and add any details (obv can't just bolt on a LSD). I think I'd be falling out of love. We had to wait months then, when our 595c arrived, the roof was damaged and had to have a complete new assembly. Sucks. A

Hate to play devils advocate, but I cant help agreeing with the Le Blanc. I think it is a great little car but £30k is taking the piss. that puts it up against the likes of the Civic Type R, Gulf R and Focus RS, The most expensive Mazda is £21k. I love Italian cars but I couldn't warrant spending that. Sorry!

So I was parked up, and some idiot could not even exit a space without hitting/scraping something ,
i have a dash cam however it does not record when parked.
very angry, they didn't leave a note with contact details or anything just drove of.

Sorry JenLou, but I must moan about main dealers again. Today I visited my local Fiat dealer to buy parts for the 2nd service on my 2015 comp. Waited patiently for Mr laughs to finish his clearly important phone call, asked for the parts I needed for the service, when he brought the 2 tins of PETRONAS oil he asked me if I knew that it was very expensive? "Do I look like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman?" I replied. Nothing. Took the bits and receipt back to the car, checked the receipt, £2.45 for a bulb, clearly the wrong receipt, walked back upstairs, looked through the window at Mr Laughs, he looks back at snaps "What?" Seriously? Is this how you speak to customers? By this time my calm and pleasant demeanour has long since gone, "Either you have fucked up and over charged me or you have fucked up and given me the wrong receipt" Funny how raising your voice and dropping the F bomb gets everyone's attention. Ever think some people are not cut out for dealing with the public? If I were to be a total arrogant prick I probably wouldn't print my name on the receipt.

Finding a huge (to me) chip in the paintwork on my week old 695 XSR on the rear wing! felt sick but at least its out of the way now :)
-
Hi Craig,
The first stone chip..........something we all hope will never happen. Must admit , it does make you feel sick.
Neil.
-
Its a bit like the first scratch on a nice watch, some even do it on purpose to get it out of the way!
Bottle of touch up on its way :)
-
Hi
We got a stone chip the day after we bought it on the way to goodwood
Main road covered in chippings instead of tarmacing properly
Not a happy bunny
Then a few days after a cat run up the bonnet full length scratches
Definitely not a happy bunny
A few more stone chips later our car is still looking good just don't look too carefully
Best just enjoy driving the car

I agree.... It's almost like willy waving showing off a "flashy" watch. I have no interest in watches, otherwise I'd be on a watch owners club ;D

Walking home from Old Sun public house, having watched Liverpool beat Swansea 5-0 (see ‘what makes you happy’) getting completely washed out by a taxi throwing up a monster wave right over the pair of us! Laugh or cry? Either way, seriously cold and wet. Knew we shouldn't have walked..,

No so much bad mood, more disappointed... selling the Yamaha Tricity scooter, it’s just not getting used. The upshot is we can use the sale to fund our crate addition (see ‘what made you happy?’)

Stone chips anyone?
Yes, straight into the windshield, cracking it. Luckily I'm insured for that. So it makes me a bit happy too, as I don't have to clean it now :p
-
Had a stone chip a month ago, cracked the same day, put a claim in with Autoglass, apparently the screen is on back order with Fiat? Sounds like bollocks to me?
-
Nothing major. Other than that soon as I finished cleaning Taz, a chippy turned up next door and started cutting and routing MDF outdoors. Shit loads of dust all over my lovely car!
-
Stone chips anyone?
Our XSR has a bit of an ugly stone chip. I have researched on tinterweb and am confident of being able to cure it. I am part way through and have taken progress photos and will post them all with detail of how easy / difficult the process was.

Hi, newbie here. I bought an Abarth 500 back in 2015 and have loved every minute of ownership. It was a pre reg car, first reg Jan 2015 on a 64 plate. I bought it from Arnold Clark in July 2015 and was the second owner after the garage. The car had 15 miles on the clock and was essentially brand new. The car is the stunning 'legends blue' colour (which is like a cross between baby blue and the Porsche Miami Blue) with dark smoke grey wheels, I think it's a gorgeous combination and have never seen another with the same combo. Anyway, the car has now done 25500 miles and I've decided to trade up to a pre reg 68 plate Competizione. Toecap I'm trading in has a full service history, legal tyres, MOT due on 31 Jan, but no concerns whatsoever, both keys, no scrapes on Alloys but does have a very small ding and scrape on drivers door, which will cost about £40 to fix an like I say 25,500 miles, which will be more like 26000 when it gets traded. When washed, it looks like a brand new car, ding is hard to even see, but I've been told £40 by one of those dent fixing firms. I was kind of shocked when I got the trade in figure from Arnold Clark, they have quoted me £6,250! I went back to the sales guy and showed him what similar age/mileageexamples were advertised for, but he just came back with the old " just because they're advertised for that, doesn't mean they're selling for that line". You guys will have a lot more experience than me with prices than me, is £6,250 a fair price for a 2015 '64 plate Abarth 500 135 with FSH, scrape free wheels, with perfect interior and exterior (apart from ding previously mentioned)? If not, what would you say I should be looking to get? Part of me thinks maybe for easiness sake, I should just accept the £6,250, as I really don't want to lose the car I hope to buy. Lastly, if I was to try and sell privately, how much should I be asking for a quick sale?
Any advice you guys can offer would be much appreciated.
Ryan
