Saving money for Koni FSD's. Will get there slowly but surely :).
-
Lots of mods due by the end of the week. That makes me very happy :D
-
Saw some Esseesse springs on eBay last night from partsworld, put a cheeky £50 offer in thinking they would turn it down definitely. Woke up this morning and they have accepted my offer :) well happy with that. Got myself springs just need the Koni FSD's now :)
-
Just bought the same esseesse springs from partsworld ;D their last set. Tried for the £50 but ended up paying £59.99.

Very good deals. Cant wait to get them on the car.
Wish I could afford the koni. just a bit out of my price range at the moment haha
-
I'm a bit like that, been trying to save but thought i'd just go for it. Only live once why not :).
The missus wont be impressed haha i get comments like "well what do they do different from the ones you've already got" or "you could just save it or spend it on something better" haha

Finally setting up the coilovers perfectly that they ride, handle spot on and don't crash or clang!!

Ordered some titamium A500 esseesse wheels - AFH1 are gonna be in for a nice job fitting those, konis & Eibachs once the wheels arrive!
Will do some before and after shots.
-
Getting a new set of proper 595 mats on eBay for £45 delivered ;D
Mine have worn through on the drivers side after just 12k......
-
Really?!
Mine came with the standard Abarth mats, only realised like 4 months later, when back to the dealer and they gave me the black leather 595 ones!
But they're for the summer time :D
-
Yeah they suck really! No heel protector on them. I bought a set of red ones for a splash of colour when I first got the car....Not keen on them though so they pretty much went straight into the garage. Thought they might have to come out again though, because I wasn't about to spend over £100 for some proper ones!
-
found out today that i will be getting more POWERRR!!!! 2morrow

-
My Abarth 595 hoodie turning up
-
Awesome hoodie!
Need a new Abarth jacket myself
-
Parked up and overheard some boys saying my cars awesome, that always makes me smile! :D
-
Some boxes turned up today.
PIAA upgraded DRLs, Phillips Extreme dipped and mains, seat belt pads and a snow foam lance. All I'm waiting on now is the mud flaps and I can get started.
Next stop. Team Heko wind deflectors. I reckon they'll look the business with the record grey paint.
-
Fitted the Heko wind deflectors yesterday on my supersport. They look great happy with them :)
-
Are they difficult to fit gibson?
-
Are they difficult to fit gibson?
No not at all and im not the most gifted when it comes to things like this. To be honest the slid straight in was easy, the only thing im worried about is the metal clips as you have to really force them in which had me thinking it would be difficult to get them out
-
Stickers have arrived.( I know I should get a life but this has made me happy)
-
Glad to hear :D
Get some photos of them up!
-
Fed-Ex van turned up at home yesterday with a delivery of 4 boxes from Italy. I only ordered them in the early hours of Monday morning, after looking at the post about them on here for the umpteenth time & I decided it just had to be done! Couldn't believe how quickly they arrived - Very happy ;D
-
In the summer, windows down, sport mode on, TTC on, air con off, radio off! Now take a drive on quiet country roads and just listen to the exhaust note of the Monza!
-
Momentary lapse of weakness. Somehow I wound up on Fleabay and ordered a set of Team Heko wind deflectors, plus a set of smoked side repeaters from TMC.
Somehow I don't think mummy will be pleased.
-
Airtec Intercooler ordered last night.
Should be with me early next week ;D ;D
-
Came home from hospital to find that both my Heko wind deflectors and smoked side repeaters have been delivered ahead of schedule, and were waiting for me.
Obviously I will not need to Clarkson to visit TMC after all!! ;D
Ordered the new rear light units from eBay. SWMBO says "spending over for a bit"! Pretty considerate of her as I've just ordered a holster that will take my Nikon compete with 150 - 500 zoom from the USA! ::) Very tolerant lady. :D
-
A 2 day epic trip to the Geneva Show.
We got invited onto the Aston stand and have sat in the new Lagonda Taraf, as well as close up on the Vulcan and the GT3 car.
We got on the McLaren stand as well, which featured not just a P1 GTR and a 675 LT but Ron Dennis' personal F1 GT (longtail), one of just 3 ever made. We were introduced to Bruce McLaren's daughter and chatted with here fro a good 20 minutes.
Needless to say though, no access to Ferrari!
New 595 Comeptizione looked good.
I have over 1300 photos - will post a link once they are online (may be Monday as my home broadband is too slow that number!).
-
on Friday, actually: managed to scrounge a free Innocent Smoothie wollie hat from a chap at work. Wanted one for the alloy gear knob for ages, but Innocent stopped selling them at the time. Looks like they're doing them again. It's a weird purple colour, but am still well chuffed! Little things........ ;)
-
Just snapped up a 250 ml of tough prep and tough coat for 27 quid including p&p from Ebay, saved myself at least about £13 easy! :D
-
I've just checked the tracking, and my rear light units are in the UK delivery depot. Ready to come home and be fitted to Taz. They should arrive at the same time as the chrome effect bulbs. ;D
-
New parts have started to arrive.....Just need the new car to arrive now! ;D
And just how cool is that tin! 8)
-
Got a picture of that induction out of the tin?
-

I haven't, but if you google the 695 Biposto, it's the same system although the pipework is slightly different ;)
-
Ok mate. Did you get it from squadra sportiva

Certainly did. Isn't that where all the cool kids shop these days? ;)

It is indeed mate ;D

Signed a new contract at work, that's another 7 months of Abarth modifications paid for... Just don't tell the wife! ;D haha
-

Congrats, Will. My lips are sealed when Emma is in ear shot!
I've been spending money today......... but not as much as you might think. Got an upgrade of my rental car for the next 2 days to a BMW 650i Gran Coupe............ if I don't come back, you'll know that the CHP caught me testing it too enthusiastically and I will be languishing in some Californian gaol!
-
Had my 21st birthday yesterday, got a double supercar driving experience from my parents so I need to choose 2 supercars to drive! I think I'm going to go for a Lamborghini and Ferrari or Nissan GTR, not sure yet but the Lambo needs to be one of them! Plus I got some birthday money so some Abarth modifications are to come!! :D
-
Where about you doing it?
-
Where about you doing it?
Long Marston Airfield in Warwickshire, will be a fairly long trip for being based in the south west, I was hoping I'd be able to do it at Castle Combe but it's not offered :/ will be an awesome experience though, I just hope the Abarth doesn't overshadow the Lamborghini ;)
-
Having recently done the same with a Lambo lp-570 I had the exact same worries, I can confirm that your Abarth won't overshadow it ;D
-
Well applied a second coat of AF Temptation on Saturday to my car and have got just about every product I will ever need now, last and final purchase will be Auto Finesse Mint Rims and possibly there quick detailer/spray wax for added gloss as well along with the AF Glaze and interior cleaner (once my current stuff runs out ::))
-
My tickets for Auto Italia at Brooklands have arrived.
-
Picked up a brand new set of mint green genuine 500/punto wing mirror covers for only £30 including p&p, was going to pay a bit more for a set of aftermarket covers so result!!! :)
-
Seeing ferrari back on the top podium and back to its winning ways :D Its been a long time coming.
-
My genuine wing mirrors arrived for 30 quid today, wasn't expecting until tomorrow!
Now to get them sprayed, hopefully not a botch job like the last guy done! ::)
-

What colour you spraying Brian?
-
Just Pasodoble red like the current ones. I broke all the clips removing the last ones and had to glue them back on before re-fitting it, imagine they will break again when trying to remove again so thought best to get a new set of mirrors!
The paint job on the current Pasodoble red covers on my car are chipping/flaking far too easily as the guy never prep'd them properly. He just sprayed straight onto the chrome... so I pointed this out to him and how they are in terrible condition for only 4 months old and he admitted he didn't do a great job, so instead of £50 he will re-do them for £30... told him to go to f*** :o
Got a new guy going to do it for £60 and will be covered warranty wise for 3 years for flaking etc :)
-
haha dont blame you, good stuff :)
-
Managed to get my wheels fitted today and really happy with the look of a them. Really change the look of the car and I think it really suits it. Happy with the progress made with the car in only a short space of time.
Really loving the intercooler and the added look of that poking through the grill. As always a couple of pics for you guys and girls :)
Excuse the filthy car in the pics. Will be cleaned on Friday morning.

Stupid customers marked their boxes wrong, resulting in HMRC trying to charge £380 for customs, I said hell no. But then I opened the next letter from the Tax office only to find im due for a hefty refund, so I ordered me a Bombardone and some bits and pieces, happy days! :D
-
Went to the Ace last night and met a lot of nice people. Mary and I had a great time. Thanks everyone.
Here's a link for the mud flaps I fitted to Taz. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181646032466?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

On Friday, was parking up in a spot right outside my office (just a few feet from the building), and having a little fun with the Monza whilst manoeuvring, when a young female colleague came out and complained that the car was making the ground floor windows rattle. Felt like a proper middle-aged hooligan , and very proud! ;D

My first proper drive in a 180 Comp - using a Cordolo red car loaned for the weekend by Glyn Hopkin.
I'm taking it to MITCAR tomorrow, and am really lookig forward to it.
The 100 miles or so that i did today were great fun...just sat behind a BMW Z4 that was going a quite a speed between Aylesbury and Buckingham, just to let him know I was there ;D
Now just have to wait to finally get mine, probably on 12 September
-
Placed an order on my 595 competizione. when that dealer said 'congratulations' I thought I was pregnant with my car! Was so happy with my purchase.
Fair enough, dad will go ape shit as he knows i can get a brand new BMW 2 series for that price. even i know that but i chose but my heart desires - Abarth 595 compitizione.

Getting my "nicked" abarth dust cap back :)
where did you find it? :)

This morning, about 10.30 am, cheerily hailed by a pedestrian after pulling up opposite - 'hey mate, smashing looking car you got there. What is it 2 liter turbo? - imagine a fairly broad Norfolk accent :) Having explained what it was -' makes a great noise that, give it some welly mate! - waving what may well have been a can of super strength lager in the air!! ;D Ok, probably drunk, I ask you, at that time in the morning in the boondocks of Norfolk - but such is the power of Abarth! ;D
-
Keeping my licence after been caught in other half's Abarth doing 109.56mph ;D
-
Went to see AMDetails today up in Elgin with a couple of buddies from the car club for my other car - got treated to a 3 hour demo on my car then a look round one they were working on - very pleasant surprise.
-
My car is driveable😀
-
Wooooooooo :) I'm far to excited for your car to be back
-
It's being road tested as we speak!
Still got injector issues, the Abarth ones have very long ends and we couldnt find 440,s to match to them so have thrown some smaller ones on for now, have managed to source some from Italy today though👍
The boost gauge is off as its reading 1.6,if this was true the pistons would have blown through the bonnet by now, going to put a manual gauge on tomorrow to set the boost up,then get a better one put in when the new injectors go on at a later date.
It's running well,it's extremely noisy, ridiculous amounts of turbo chatter, the exhaust sounds like a beast now(I had it piped through to my phone)this is due to the exhaust ports being 20% bigger after the headwork, really makes a difference.
It all sounds very promising, the car is meant to be pretty scary on full chat, when the turbo spools it's devastating, they reckon they can make it much faster so it's going to take a few more parts and tweaks before its finished,I wanted to do something a bit crazy and it sounds like I've got my wish😎
It is spending the morning on the rollers tomorrow so may have some willy waving amunition😙
I'm driving to Brighton on Saturday to see Micheal McIntyre,If im in the wee car it will be a perfect day 😎l ;D
-
Even more happy now as I'm spending the day at the rollers watching the car get mapped😆😆😆
-
Don't forget your ear plugs. ;)

-
Thanks,I am too,I've never been to an RR before, should be a great experience,we have one for the whole day so It will be a great learning experience too,I shall probably be a fully fledged operator by the end of play today👍,also hope to get an insight into how much work goes into getting one of these running right after the turbo transplant😎
-
Got myself a something a little louder. ;)

Watched fast and furious 6 this morning, great stunts👍
-
Drove the B road home this morning - empty roads the Abarth really flowing - not driven it for a week and reminded myself how great it is - every time I drive it it surprises me.
-
There is nothing to touch them for smiles per miles 😆
-
Ditto!
-
100 mile round trip in the new 595 from MK to Stratford on some decent, but unfortunatley quite busy, A and B roads...it's nice to give the old duffers in their Merc convertibles a bit of surprise when you go past them :D

After finishing chemotherapy, and 6 weeks in hospital after a trachyostomy and subsequent pneumonia, I took Taz out for the day. Mary and I just jumped in and hooned her down to Pompey for the day. Now I feel much better!
-
I'm really glad you are enjoying your car,,I often just blat down to the coast for a quick fish and chips then back again😎I wish you good health for the future👍
-
Thanks for your good wishes.
Oxford to Old Portsmouth. In to the Still and West for a beer and a fish and chips with mushy peas Sunday lunch. Stroll along the seawall to the funfair and back. Then wander round to Gunwharf for some photo opportunities, and shopping. Then back home.
Now I'll try and find time to clean Taz. Not tomorrow though. It's due to chuck it down all day!
-
Hi Nigel, sounds like the perfect day👌
-
Good to hear you're back out on the road Taz. The smell of petrol will always bring a smile to a petrol head.

Getting the status 40 call this morning. :)

Not Abarth related, but I was well enough to install the present I got from my daughter and her fiance, for my 65th birthday.
-
As a maggot drowner it's the nearest I could get to coarse fishing. Looks like me with my centrepin. So that'll do for me.
-
Even walked to work without a car i can still see on CCTV my car...i do miss him :-[ :'(
-
(Yesterday) Climbing Snowdon, climbing down, and then climbing back up again, because I can. More proud than happy, but still counts.
-
Make me happy to see and read from peoples mouth when they clearly said ABARTH and they either smile, wave or look at your car while you pass, or i have been pretending at work that car isn't mine when people comes to wash their car and they stand by my car and chat about my car saying, ooo i like the colour, wheels, exhaust etc...and you just pass by and smile ;D
-
Cheers Ads, i like my Abarth
-
Well guys, this making me feel just great, cos in over 2 years of ownership, not a single person has ever looked at my Abarth or complimented me. :(
-
Hooli-gran by name, hooli-gran by nature! Lol
-
Maloutant - I'm sure some commented on your car.... ;D ;D
-
Nope. Not once. EVER!! Am so depressed now. Good night, dreary world. :(
-
I can't believed :( :(
-
nah, it's the snarling Rottweiler I keep in the car to ward off the riff-raff. Oh wait... maybe that's me....?! No wonder I never get approached, that's where I've been going wrong all these years!!
-
Just got back home from a drive in the cold/dense nightime air,quiet roads,windows open,went under a few bridges,bliss....... ???
-
took a different route to work this morning, via some deserted twisty country lanes, drove in a *ahem* spirited fashion, first time I have pushed her really quite hard, now sitting at my desk with the biggest grin ;D. The noise from the Monza is unbelievable. Hustling along in third gear and then decelerating brings on a massive boom, as well as the usual crackles and pops. Love this car so much....... :)

Well well well Moloutant ;D Finally got that blast off your exhaust and driving through the twisty road through Country side. That is what Abarth must do to press that Sport button to feel like we r in the small Ferrari...enjoy.
-
Thanks, Oliver.
Chris, I'm with you on the bliss of night driving. Have had some of my best moments in the Abarth at night. The darkness intensifies everything, the sounds are more intense, your senses are sharpened. Never felt more bonded and at one with the car than during one of those moments.
-
In bed with a frothy vanilla coffee watching FAST AND LOUD,they are building a 600bhp truck to use as a pace car on Pikes Peek race.
Bliss 😑
-
was following a beautiful Alfa 4C with Gulf stickers in Milton Keynes for a couple of miles this morning. First one I've seen in motion; what a pretty, pretty car! Good noise, too! :D Was in Volvo Dogmobile, otherwise we could have had an exhaust sound-off ;D
-
This 500X I've currently got. Have to admit I've been looking at them second hand, but by god they have dropped money like lead weights in water.... :(

took advantage of the last day of the nice weather and just finished lovely 3 hour bonding/cleaning session with my little hooligan. she's all protected now and can go back into the garage to sit out the rain till the next dry and sunny spell. Next on the agenda today: bbq! :) pretty good Sunday all round, then. to be honest, deliberately dragged out the Abarth cleaning session to avoid boring and mundane things like housework. stuff it, nobody ever died from a bit of fluff on the carpet, or dust on the shelves. unless you have a severe and lethal dust allergy, in which case don't come to my house , lol

Sounds very productive Malo.
My dose of happiness, is attending my first meet, that was great, the weather was great, and now home and just finished giving the car a nice de-bug and clean.
Feet up, roast is in the oven, chill for me :)

Out in Taz for the day to RHS Wisley. Coupled with a pub lunch by the river. Cruise home and fishing tomorrow. Game, set & match I reckon.

Lewis Hamilton winning a 3rd and Nico Rosberg throwing a hissy fit ;D
If you are happy Ads I'm happy for you. Lewis Hamilton is in deed great driver
-
I'm not a big fan of Lewis either ever since he shattered my illusion that I was a good driver.
My claim to fame is that I raced against him when he was about 12 (I was about 27). It was a test day at Lydd kart track and he pitched up in his McLaren funded motorhome acting like he owned the place. As I was in my brothers 125cc long circuit kart (with gears) compared to his little 50cc junior rollerstake I thought I'd show him how it was really done. Somehow how, I'm still not sure how, he managed to lap me every other lap! Cocky little show off
haha, you actually have a genuine reason for not liking him much, then! ::). Nobody likes a show-off.... ::)
-
Lewis isn't show off. He was nearly crying :'(

Getting a phone call from a certain head office to inform me than parts required have been sourced, hopefully about a 7-10 days until I get my roller skate back.

Having the postie deliver a box from TMC. 👍🏼
Spacers and springs have arrived. :)
Although I'm confused, having ordered a set of Novitec. I find the box contains Eibach :o
-
Okay, called TMC and spoke to Daron.
They're awaiting a new order of Novitec springs. So instead of splitting the order and having me incur a wait of a week or so. He's sent me the Eibach springs, at no extra charge.
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. 😎

It's so gratifying to hear of such good service,I'm green with envy, there are not many things in life as satisfying as opening a box of goodies for your car, enjoy ;D

We're never slow to criticise poor service.

Humiliating a bellend in a X5 2.5i from the lights, to be honest who else drives them? You just know when that happens to big powerful cars, they go straight home and google 595 competizione!

Being today with my favourite Abarths and people, few other non Abarth guy, sorry haven't catched his name with Blue BMW, and the rest guys who came to joins us from West London towards London Tunnel ride. First went to South Mims station, which was packed with modified cars, then off to other location as due to lot of us turning maybe close to 2000 cars. Police has to close and told us to move out. But it was great drive and happy that 175bhp could run up with cars over 400bhp on M25. Cheers to Steve and Darren who came along, Shan guys with replica Abarth podium blue/black and Jaytee in the end.

Oh, almost forgot, and the British and Irish Lions' magnificent series draw against the mighty NZ All Blacks. I expect many will feel that it leaves the tour a little incomplete, but sharing the spoils is no bad thing and in years to come it will be viewed as a success for both, mark my words. NZ remain unbeaten at Eden Park, Lions were not beaten by the world champions. Just awesome. I think I just may have to follow the pride next time, in 12 years time, God willing.

2017 was really bad for people tagging people in random memes and general sales nonsense. For me personally its lost its way as a communication tool for the people.
Seriously though, this forum will be more useful than ever for Abarth meets and events this year so we should all use it.
